And Steeler troll, I leave you with this:

Please provide the logic behind throwing a 31 yard TD midway thru the 4th when you are up 34-0. I mean, hey, the Pats were up 38-0 and they get crucified for throwing just a PASS! I don't recall any "hurt Big Ben" quotes.

I agree that you still have to play. Was it a screen? do you even know? If it's a run/screen or a shallow pass? 31 yards does not always mean 31 yeards in the air. so, the guy breaks it, then....
In that case (most times) Not only did you score but it was probably by a depth chart guy and that's a bonus too. Who's going to say anything about that?

This past weekend the Pats went for it twice on 4th down and in the fourth-quarter while winning 38-0 and 45-0.

Provide YOUR logic.

Jeez...those are some crappy looking rings. Loook like they came out of a CrackerJack box.

Talk about jealous.
Unfortunately that was the "in" design back when you were just a little girl or perhaps back before your daddy should have used a rubber.

At least the tuck rule was a rule. And was enforced correctly. Unlike in an AFCC game where the Steelers grabbed a 10-7 lead thanks to a late 5 yard TD pass from Neil O'Donnell to Kordell Stewart. The replay showed that Stewart had stepped out of bounds in the back of the endzone, and then had come back in to make the catch. That was not caught or called correctly. And say all you want about winning by 3 points. At least they won with out the help of, as Mike Holgrem put it, the guys in the striped shirts.

Wasn't that like a 12 yard pass on 1st down in the 3rd qtr? That's reaching a bit. The guys in the striped shirts have helped the Patriots way more and in bigger spots. Trust me.

I am a Steelers fan. Not a Steeler (thought you knew that). You are correct though about the "smash mouth and playing till the whistle blows" parts.

There's a respect about knowing when the game is won. I shouldn't need to explain it.

You guys seem so good about looking up historical stats, find one where someone whooped the crap out of the Pats then just ran the clock out in the 4th qtr (mercifully). As awful a team as they were for most of their existence, that should be a pretty easy task. I don't care enough to do it.

I actually have a few...apprehensions about winning it, because we may see you again in the playoffs and it's tough enough beating a mediocre team twice in one season.., much less a good one.

Speak for yourself!

He shouldn't have to. There should be respect between players wether you like them or not and purposely injuring a fellow proffesional is low, really low. Football is a violent game, but theres a line.

I doubt most opposing players and coaches even think we're running up the score anyways judging by some comments about us from around the league. It's just the media causing sh*t as usual or opposing fans whining like b*tches because we rolled over them.

OR, if B.B. wasn't such an arrogant ***** (rhymes with Stick and starts with "Pr") he wouldn't keep Brady in to run up the score. That way, you wouldn't have to be concerned about such things.

Kind of off the topic, but those 1974 & 1975 Steeler Super Bowl rings in your siggy were some ugly she-ite, weren't they?!?!

Especially sitting right next to the other three!

When you see the rings of today compared with those old school rings...man those guys must be pissed!

Oh, by the way, and not to stir up the pot, because I could not care less about this "running up the score" issue, but here's what your (Steeler) coach had to say about it:

Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh Steelers: “We’re responsible for keeping their score down. They aren’t. That’s just being competitive. That’s what this game is about. That’s what any game is about. I have no comment or opposition to them ringing up as many points as they’re capable of.”

Huh? Did someone actually threaten Brady? I thought that all this junk is from some media hypster who mentioned someone should go after him.

So if anybody goes after Vince Young they would be suspended how long, a season? Two? Should they pro rate the penalty so that if you take out a crappy QB you lose 15 yards, but if you take out Brady or Manning it is a Lifelong ban? Exactly what is being suggested?

All this hype, I believe is junk from the media, unless I missed something. I sure hope Goodell wouldn't buy into it.

We could call it the Micheal Jordan rule in the NFL

He would just state that anyone we find that goes after Brady is gone from the NFL for LIFE.

That would put an end to the whole thing.

Then baseball could grow a pair and say that they are testing EVERYONE each week. None of this loophole crap. That would end the steroid scandall.

This will happen if scores keep getting run up. Sad as it may be. Playing with fire keeping Bady out there.

The difference is that no media tool is talking about taking out Vince Young. By someone saying that Brady "might get hurt (wink)", if he keeps staying in the game, then they are legitimizing the act of purposely injuring someone.

I am just stating that it should be addressed BEFORE it gets out of hand. If the penalty is stiff enough, then no one will risk their career to do it.

No. I'd be shocked, as I'm sure the Skins were. But hey, I know the Steelers aren't going to lay down and know this: As it's always been, win or lose, the Patriots will know they were in a football game when it's over.

I actually have a few...apprehensions about winning it, because we may see you again in the playoffs and it's tough enough beating a mediocre team twice in one season.., much less a good one.

****lessburger is the most overrated qb next to tony romo. The steelers are no where near the same level as the patriots and you know it. I LOVE the fact that they run up the score, I dont have an excuse for it, because I think its freakin awsome. I pay money for sunday ticket, and I get my moneys worth by seeing my favorite players play just about 60 mins of football. And if anyone hurts brady on purpose, he's got about 10 other people on his side on that field that might get a little angry and do something about it in the heat of the moment.

Is this a moderated forum..? The trolling in here - esp. by Colts and Steelers fans - is getting way out of hand.

Where are the f*cking moderators..?

Yeh, you're right. If Brady takes the knee in the third quarter then nobody will try to cream him.

I didn't realize that NFL linemen and LBs had such tender and appreciative feelings, but if you said it then it must be true.

You're running scared already, eh? Begging for relief? It ain't happening in the NFL. Your team will face the same withering attack for 60 minutes (remember the old saying about playing for 60 minutes?)

That all BS. 52-7 is running up the score. Most Patriots fans couldn't even make up their minds on how to justify it and some still can't. It's poor sportsmanship and it's not coming from a player, it's coming from a Head Coach. If it's such the "normal" thing to do, then why is it such a big deal nationwide? I know, jealously right? That's BS too. My team is way more accomplished than the Patriots. If they were winning games and just running out the clock (in a show of good sportsmanship) I would have nothing to say.., few would. But, don't take my word for it. Someone is undoubtedly going to hurt Brady. It very well may not be intentional. Call it extra motivation, but it will certainly be unnecessary if it occurs while they're going for it on 4th down late in the 4th while up by a bunch (A.K.A trying to run up the score).

Your team is a has-been and right now, they suck.
We're gonna run it up on your team BIG TIME!
And you know what little man? There not a damn thing you can do about it. So get ready to be embaressed! :D

If you came here with some respect, we'd allow you to participate in intellegent conversation.

Your own coach said the Pats aren't doing anything wrong...so are you calling your coach an idiot? HHhhhmmmmm?

Hey Simpleton, thanks for stopping bye. The Patriots aren't running up the score, the defense can't stop them. Tough cookies. It has been made clear that the Patriots are going to FINISH games. What happened in the AFCCG against Indy will not happen again. The Patriots are going to knock teams down and then step on their throats. Don't like it, stop it....the Patriots have the same number of players out there as the other team.

They're running up the score. There's nothing wrong with it—but don't pretend it's something else.

It also says STEELERS on it along with FIVE Super Bowl Rings. Can I assume you're ignorant?

It's called the Pride Club. That's so cute that you have a gay fan club in Pittsburgh. You guys responsible for the Village People Mascot?
Nice Work Suzy.

Did any of you actually graduate High School?

It's laughable how tough some of you talk.

BTW - I'm not responding to the majority of these last posts as it seems some of you were too lazy to read the entire thread.

Bye Ladies

What's the world coming too, even Steelers fans are turning into tofu eating cat owners whining about hurt feelings. This is awesome.
