The perceived "Good Guys" vs "Bad Guys"

I Like wearing the black hats. You left out Polian vs Pioli which is one that changes the good/bad thingy. Polian isn't the good guy there. I went to the 2001 Super Bowl and have attended 3 playoff games so I can't say it's the biggest game I've ever attended. But it still should be a lot of fun. I really don't even want to hear the hype. It'll have no bearing on the outcome.

I definately am looking forward to this game but I am not going to get too worked up. Honestly I'm more concerned with beating the Colts when the teams meet in the playoffs. Something that is highly probable. A win Sunday will be great, but if the Pats and Colts meet in the AFCCG this year that will be the game of the year.

This good vs. evil thing is complete BS and you know it.

How about we call it the whiners vs. the nonwhiners.

Did you just whine?

God, give it up will you? Are you guys obsessed? The Colts are a class outfit, and without them we'd have nobody to go play with on our own level. Can't you lay off and just enjoy it for a week?

Many disagree with your characterization of the Colts organization, I'm sure.

The best part is that both teams are playing their best football. Neither team has ever looked better.

In the past few matchups, the Patriots have been out manned, either due to injury or roster attrition.

This is the first matchup where neither team appears to have any weaknesses.

Having said all that, the Colts are in trouble. Our defense was embarrassed in last season's AFCC game. This game will be a major statement game for them.

My prediction:

Patriots 49

Colts 17

The Colts are a great team but they're going up against the greatest team the league has ever seen.

I disagree. The Colt's aren't playing NEARLY as well as they're capable of playing. Injuries have made that impossible, on both sides of the ball.

I'm PRAYING we'll have everyone back next sunday.

The injury excuse is used by a lot of Patriots fans for last year's AFCC game.
IMO, that's all it is. You play the games on your schedule with the guys you have available. FWIW, praying won't change a thing.

Here's to both teams staying healthy and providing the entertainment we all know they are capable of bringing!

I say it's a blow out, PATRIOTS.... :singing:

It will most definately NOT be a blowout. Indy knows NE very well and matches up with them better than any other team in the league. You forget that we have the #1 ranked pass defense and #3 total defense. You cannot simply win by doing what you have been doing and throwing all the time. If it was at NE I would probably say NE would win but not in a blowout. But since it's at Indy, and on that fast turf, Im going with the Colts, 34-28. Indy is a MUCH faster team the the Pats, especially on Defense.

Kind of hard on your own team there, aren't you? Everyone knows Darth Polian is a neurotic, whining jerk and Martin Luther Dungy is a sanctimonious phony, but as a Colts fan I'd think you'd defend them regardless.

You're a complete moron. How dare you call Dungy a phony. He is a great inspirational man who is all about family and religion. Your post is simply immature and it proves that you are a jackass little *****.

This a topic that has been played out already. Let's try to stay away from this and stick to the game stuff.

You are looking like quite the ***** yourself, not that you care.

The patriots defense is not as good as it has been in the past, but it is still a better defense than the colts. The colts are playing a team that dominates possession time and has offensive weapons unlike the rest of their schedule. The best defense is a good offense, and this years colts and patriots are proving that.
I am going with patriots 38-34.

I say Red Sox in four...anybody want to argue???

...oh...wait....

Dungy's "family-and-religion" trip didn't take long to devolve into holier-than-thou sanctimony through seeing himself as something more than a mere football coach, which is all he truly is. THAT is being a phony, and certainly less than humble.

You're just another Colt jackass fan here to stir up trouble, go to your own team's messageboard and stay there. Moron.

January 21, 2007... The dawning of a new era began in the NFL. A new era that the NFL sorely needed. Tony Dungy and the Indianapolis Colts won... and SAVED the NFL.

People on this board have been lead to believe that Brady is excellence. Uh uh.... MANNING IS EXCELLENCE.

For the first time in many many years, NFL fans have a QB who can entertain them. They have a team who is GOOD enough for them. They have a Coach who makes them jump up off their chairs and scream "Go Colts Go!" "Go Colts Go!".

Because of that HISTORIC AFC Championship game... the NFL, New England Patriots, and most imporant, THE WORLD CHAMPION Indianapolis Colts... will never, evvvvvvvvvvvver be the same again!

Colts 38
Patriots 24

Thank you!

don't worry...Indy will win the World Series NEXT year!

oh...wait again...

Another Colts fan bailing on his own team before next week's game is even played. Quite remarkable.

Saved the NFL? From what? The NFL has been the best Pro league for years.
