Well they do have to matchup again Marvin, Reggie and Dallas every week.
... and get torched in the process, as was the case with Nick Harper and Jason David this season.

Colts don't play rookies unless they have to. You cannot compare how we do things with other teams. Maybe those other teams needed a CB we didn't at the time.
Once again, the FACTS are thrown right back into the face of the Colts Trolls. Oh, I can find another cornerback who started in his rookie year for the New England Patriots ...... Michael Haynes. You can find him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

This is how you build a franchise. You cannot tell me Polian isn't a freakin genius.

2006 -- Joseph Addai, RB, LSU

2005 -- Marlin Jackson, CB, Michigan

2003 -- Dallas Clark, TE, Iowa

2002 -- Dwight Freeney, DE, Syracuse

2001 -- Reggie Wayne, WR, Miami Fla

2000 -- Rob Morris, LB, BYU

1999 -- Edgerrin James, RB, Miami Fla

1998 -- Peyton Manning, QB, Tennessee* Polian Era

1997 -- Tarik Glenn, OT, California

1996 -- Marvin Harrison, WR

Polian is a great drafter. So are BB and Pioli. Steelers are also terrific drafters. Baltimore too.

Offense yes and defense no.

Also throw in the fact we didn't have a 1st round pick in 04' but we got Bob Sanders in the 2nd round. Pats coulda had him.

Please give me the list of players that won a starting job at corner as a rookie(or second year player)? The guys that started ahead of them were both allowed to leave via free agency due to the fact that Hayden and Jackson were on the team and going to be the starters.

If you go by the arguement that someone was starting ahead of them means they suck, then Brady must have really sucked since it took Drew getting hurt to get him into a game. See how dumb that is?

Funny how I found a cornerback that started in his rookie year, incidentally the same draft class as Marlin Jackson and Kelvin Hayden.

So I ask for a CB that won a starting job as a rookie and you give me an injury replacement and a rookie in 1976 that was the 5th overall pick and an eventual hall of famer.

Offense yes and defense no.

Marlin Jackson is starting this year so give him time. Freeney is great. Morris was a key to our run defense last year. Plus we got Bob Sanders in round 2. So offense, yes, Defense, yes.

The Patriots did not need to select another safety in the first day of the 2004 NFL draft, since New England just won a Super Bowl with safeties Eugene Wilson (rookie in 2003) and Rodney Harrison. Now if the Patriots drafted a linebacker in second round of the 2004 NFL draft instead .......

Maybe they considered him injury-prone. ;)

Marlin Jackson only ran 4.52 seconds in the 40 yard dash during the combines. Randy Moss ran a 4.28 seconds in the 40 yard dash earlier this year. No contest whatsoever and Randy Moss has better hands than Marlin Jackson ever will.

The defensive statistics dictate otherwise. As for defensive drafts, the Patriots have by far better selections than the Colts in the Bill Belichick era.

Jackson didn't have to run a 4.52 when he pick off Brady to seal the wi last year. Like I stated earlier Moss has never had a good game in the Dome, it won't change this year.

Maybe so, but our offense > your defense. I'll take the 98-06 Polian draft against the defensive players the Pats have drafted since his BB's era started. Colts win that battle easily.

While Tom Brady does not have Caldwell, Gaffney, and Brown as his top three wide receivers this year. Yet you keep denying the fact the Patriots vastly improved their offense during the off-season. Colt fans hoping the Patriots rely on their fourth string running back this year since the Patriots top three running backs (Maroney, Dillon, and Faulk) were all injured in the 2006 AFC Championship Game.

I'm glad he being playing football against him and not racing him then. Nearly every WR has better hands than a DB. DBs that have really good hands end up playing receiver, there is a reason they are DBs.

That is completely false since the Patriots have won three Super Bowls this decade versus one Super Bowl for the Colts.
