I know mind games don't have to be complicated, but you compared LT talking trash to Phil Jackson playing his mind games, so I assumed there must be some complexity to LT's trash talk that I was missing.

And when is the first part of your statement ever true? When players trash talk another team, the focus is always on the player who makes the statement. If an opposing player says "gee, the Patriots d line sucks, everyone says it sucks." Is the Pats d line gonna think they suck, or are they going to be out for blood? That's what trash talk does, it fires up the opposing team.

This just goes to show that Norv Turner has no control over that team. Last season LT made some comments after the season was over, but I'm guessing Schottenheimer would have grabbed him by the collar if this had happened during the season. It's one thing to say something to a reporter, but this was a broadcast press conference. Could you see Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, or Jason Taylor saying something like this about an opponent? He should have just laughed and left it at that... people would have gotten the point.

I see this as the first seem coming undone for San Diego... you can say I am grasping at straws, but Turner is notorious for running a loose, loose ship and letting his players do whatever they want.

The Chargers are in big trouble on Sunday, not because of this, but because the Patriots are better than them and they know it.

BB already trashes the other team in the locker room with his players, often making up stories that aren't true to try and motivate his guys. So what else is new? I don't see the benefit of these comments other than to derail their focus, because you can't prove you aren't cheating by going out and playing harder.
