A rodney harrison support thread? Are you guys kidding me? What, are you 7 years old?

We're old enough to know that HGH and 'roids aren't the same thing.

I'd bet 25% of every team (at least) is on HGH but for the life of me can't imagine any other team having such pathetic fans as to start a "support thread" for some dude who got nabbed for taking 'roids.

No, they're pathetic for rooting for teams other than the Patriots. Now get lost.

I'm disappointed but I still respect and support him and I look forward to cheering him on starting in week 5. Some people are treating him like the scum of the Earth in here and I think that is 100% out of line

It wasn't a big deal when Shawne Merriman got suspended and this won't be that big of a deal either.

He's still Rodney to me and I will forgive him eventually, but I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for him right now. He made a terrible decision and is suffering the consequences. It's very unfortunate, and I'm still a fan of the guy, but Rodney isn't getting anything he doesn't deserve.
Ditto! Rodney rolled the dice and this is what he got! He's one of many, but got caught. I'll support him as long as he serves his suspension, comes back to play 100% and contributes the way he always has!! Can this season get under way quick enough!!

You're still the man, Rodney! Let's all remember that like all humans he made a mistake but it takes a real man to admit to it.

yeah, it takes a real man to admit to it when you get caught.

Cant somebody ban this tool?

Most of us in Charger Land are depressed as well. We love Rodney.

And we certainly know what you're going through. I hope it doesn't happen again.

Thanks...I kind of feel bad for bashing you guys about Merriman. It seems we both know how it feels now.

Read the above post, moron.

It will. If they caught Harrison, then they'll get more. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg. Not just for football, but other sports as well. There are members of Congress and the Senate that really want to take these guys down a notch and put them in their place(i.e. since the congressional hearings on MLB and steroids a couple years ago). The gov't doesn't mess around when people start thinking their above the law. It may take a while, but they'll find someone to crucify eventually. Personally, I hope they can put a stop to all of it, but as long as the big $$$ are there most athletes will take the risk!

so KDO you "feel bad", but do you want rodney suspended long term or are you backtracking now?
I suppose I am backtracking because I didn't expect it to happen to a Pats player which was stupid to think. :D

fair enough. they are all doing it, that is the problem. they will start dropping like flies pretty soon....

good luck this year, I hate your team :)
Same for you, bastard. :D

it sucks because you can't control the actions of your sports heroes, and it especially sucks when they disappoint you like this

i'd hate for all of his and the team's accomplishments to be somewhat tainted.

the Pats will be painted as the bad guys.

I kinda feel like this. I'm pissed at Rodney right now. That takes nothing away from the admiration and love I feel for things he's done for us in the past, but for now, I'm pissed.

WE ALL SHOUD BE. What he did was wrong and it will hurt this team.

But then again, I've been puissed at members of my own family befroe too when they've done stupid things. I still love them and will support them, but that doesn't mean that I can not honestly tell them how MONUMENTALLY dissapointed I am. I am MONUMENTALLY dissapointed.

Rodney, serve your time and then come back a better player/person, because we surely will need your azz the rest of the season.

I want to be supportive, but d%#*!@t Rodney, I'm really mad at you! I'll still love you when you come back though, you wayward child!!

Eh. He got caught... the others who are currently using or have in the past, didn't.

He apologized. Will do his time. The end.

Well, at least some of the others may have gotten caught. We'll see as this story plays out.

In the end, they'll do their time, too, and we'll all move on.

I found this posted at the BOS All Patriots Blog

Here's Bob Halloran's take on Rodney Harrison's suspension:

I'm sorry. Two words that carry more weight than most words, two words that can lift the weight of the world off someone's shoulders.

Rodney Harrison said the two most important words he could say at this time, and he said it, because he meant it. And that means a lot.

Harrison didn't fail a drug test. He failed a human test. He was tempted to take a quicker route back to the NFL, and even though he knew it was the wrong path, he took it. You can't condone the behavior, but should we condemn it? Not so fast.

This seems very different to me than the lame denials we've heard from guys like Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Rafael Palmeiro.

Harrison could have tried at least three ways to avoid being suspended by the NFL. He could have denied, denied, and if that didn't work, he could have denied some more. He could have been embroiled in the same speculation that has dogged the usual suspects in various sports.

He could have been a distraction to his team for their entire championship run. But he manned up. After making a big mistake, he confessed.

Criticize him for the first act. Applaud the second
