It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I understand your reaction, but the saddest and most despicable part of it all is that he's far from how you describe him intelligence-wise. It's why he should be even more ashamed of himself. But, he won't be.Smith is mentally ******ed.
Yes, but....he is stating the truth and we all know how that is viewed by jealous, hating fanbases around the league. C'mon, actual science didn't even factor into the idea of Brady's innocence. Bill is just staing what we and most every other sports fan around the country has known for a while....Stephen A. Smith is a complete and total azzclown.I like what Simmons is saying, but he's going to get looked at as a disgruntled former employee, as well as a Boston/Patriot fan. I like that he has Brady's/the Patriot's back, but it holds as much merit in the rest of the country as Smith has with us Patriot's fans.
Think you're underselling him a bit. Smith is a clown. First with Grantland now with the Ringer and HBO, Simmons has moved well beyond the "Boston Sports Guy" persona to someone who works with respected writers, interviews the President, etc.
Is he still a Boston fan? Yes. And clearly no love lost with ESPN. But it's still very much a positive when he takes shots like this.
It would be nice if more people with a platform would called out racial dividers like Stephen A. Smith, Jemele Hill etc. just as people of caucasian ethnicity should be called out for their stupid opinions.SAS = race hustling idiot

Unless it's a Patriots game, for the most part, I boycott ESPN. I very rarely read any of their articles, and honestly, it's been wonderful.
It's never a positive when shock jocks like Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless, et al get attention. The only way these guys are ever going to go away is if we stop giving them the time of day.Think you're underselling him a bit. Smith is a clown. Butt buddy also ...Smith is Troy Vincent's sock puppet.
Disagree. Smith isn't some random blogger or something, he's well-known and has a forum. It was a good shot by Simmons. It's never a positive when shock jocks like Stephen A. I don't even know why people get upset at the things these buffoons say anymore. It is so painfully clear that they're acting and just trying to get a rise out of people. They don't believe the things they say, they're just sensationalizing for the sake of creating controversy.
It's like they say, "don't feed the trolls". Well, Simmons is feeding the trolls. Rookie mistake.
And his idea of defending the Patriots is bringing a sh*tfaced Ben Affleck on his show for an embarrassing drunken tirade that makes us all sound unreasonable and stupid. I know Simmons is supposed to be on our side, but with friends like these . . .
I disagree. Affleck may have been drunk and it definitely was a tirade, but he laid down very bluntly and truthfully how much BS this whole fiasco is.
I live in Vancouver where the common NFL fan isn't looking through all the articles like we do and can see how much of a ****show Deflategate is. I've argued with a buddy of mine about it and he always came back to "he smashed his cell phone". Many times I explained to him all the points we all know about the phone. I sent him the Affleck video and his response was "I finally see what you were saying". Affleck as a celebrity himself got through how someone with Tom Brady's fame just doesn't give his phone to a leak prone organization like the NFL. That 5 minute rant by Affleck turned my buddy's point of view on this mess. Probably turned a lot of others that haven't really paid attention to the details
Not that it matters much, but I don't think he was drunk. I think he might have gotten a botox injection or something because his face seemed a bit rigid, but don't think he was boozing.I admit, I didn't watch the whole thing. When he began with that drunken burbling, I couldn't bear to watch the rest.
Even if he got the points across, why do this visibly intoxicated? It doesn't make you more credible. It's not like this is a live broadcast so why not sober him up first?
Now that Simmons has a public platform away from the evil clutches of the NFL and ESPN, he should be a little more thoughtful on how to use it effectively if he's serious about vindicating Brady and calling out the league and other media for their BS.
