OT: Golden State Warriors Sputtering Toward the End

Sorry, guys who pick and choose their team based on who can get them a ring instead of sucking up and taking responsibility rub me the wrong way. "Not one championship, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven ....." How'd that work out LeBron.
I wish nothing but suck for LeBron in the finals ... f'n fugazi if ever there was one.

I'd root for the Jets to win a championship before I rooted for LeBron ...

Well ... maybe not ... but it's close.

As a pats fan i'll have a ton of respect for GS if they pull off the historic season as we were unable to do so in the basically same situation, however im rooting for the Cavs i think. I've never fully understood the hatred for Lebron and it's about damn time the city of Cleveland has something to cheer about.

Pats fans say they respect GS or San Antonio because we are familiar with greatness, and yet can't wait to downplay Lebron's greatness at every opportunity lol

On a side note, I would love to see a dream series between the '08 celtics and the '16 warriors. Maybe the two best teams of the last decade plus.

A lot of the hate is pretty irrational, although a lot is also somewhat valid.

I enjoyed watching and rooting LeBron for a while (I just casually watch the NBA, I don't get into it as much as football) -- He's a top 10 player of all time regardless of all this or what I think.

But what really turned me away from rooting for him was the way he acted both on and off the court. Insanely immature and douchey. I finally noticed it last year & this year.

It's stuff like this:

Or this (a 3 point game with 5 minutes left in the 4th):

Combine that with some of the douchey things he airs out through the media or twitter, the absurd amount of flopping he does, the lack of respect he has for coaches (wanted Spoelstra fired, definitely didn't like Blatt) and more.

Oh yeah, and this one below.... Just pathetic. Again, this is coming from someone who pretty much rooted for him when he played in the finals throughout the years.

The Decision, as a media spectacle, was an awful mistake and he was rightfully criticized. But, I refuse to criticize anybody for choosing:

1. Dywane Wade and Chris Bosh over Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao.
2. Miami over Cleveland

Why would anyone in their right mind choose the latter? To impress internet tough guys like you?

You can like LeBron if you want but it can't be that hard to understand why people don't especially around here.

He is a whiny spoiled star that's been pampered since he was like 14. And there was healthy rivalry between he and the Celts for years.
Then why do you root for Tom Brady? The entire world outside of Pats Nation views him as a whiny spoiled cheater thats been pampered all his life (hes had a personal throwing coach since high school) so its not that much different. Its just a matter of perspective.

I feel like people wouldnt feel the same way if he played for the Celtics. Garnett was kind of an unlikeaable douche at times in his career but everyone embraced him immediately and loved him for it

I absolutely do not want the Jets winning a SB in my lifetime. 2010 was unbearable. A SB win would force me to relocate to a Baltic country.

I'm really glad I didn't post in this thread last week, because I would now have to eat crow on all of my "The Warriors are D-U-N" posts. I thought they had no chance once they went down 3-1.

GS coming back was some impressive stuff. As for OKC, they mentioned it during the game last night, but the disappearance of the Thunder's 3 point shooting is hard to figure. For the season, they shot 47%. In games 6 & 7, they shot 20% (10-50.) If they managed 30% 3 point shooting, they probably win the series.

One general observation is that I've seen more Golden States shirts and jerseys in the last 2 years than I have in prior 20 combined. We've all hear comments like "No one liked the Patriots until 2001, then all their fans showed up." I've seen similar people on here (and I might have been one of them) make similar comments about the Seahawks. It's simple, though; If a team wins, people are going to jump on their bandwagon. I really don't blame them, either. GS plays a fun, entertaining style of ball.

Right. Only thing good about Golden State before the 2015 season was Red trading a pick for Robert Parish AND Kevin McHale.

First off F you for your comparison to Brady. Second I don't care what the country thinks I know TB never cheated. More too the point TB was not handed anything like LeBron was people were telling LeBron he would be the best NBA player when he was like 14 Brady had earn everything he got. Sure after he earned it he has a lived a charmed life and the country is jealous haters now but that's not even close to same as LeBron.

I will admit that had we drafted LeBron my opinion likely would be different but that's not how it went down.

Garnett is also vastly different his trash talking and tough guy attitude is the sort of thing that definitely annoys but you love when he is on your team.

I think I just wasted too much breath on you. How dare you talk bad about TB like that.

By "pampered" and "spoiled", do you mean "held to an impossible standard and treated like the worst villain in sports even though he plays an unselfish brand of basketball and lives a clean life off the court"?

I assume that by "pampered" and "spoiled", he means "pampered" and "spoiled", which Lebron, like so many top NBA players, clearly is.

This is one of the more ridiculous comparisons we'll ever see.

Not to mention that Lebrom and Brady were both first overall picks, and that Brady has not one, not two, not three...............

I disagree here. KG was embraced before becoming a Celtic. He was never disliked off the court (from my recollection). He's just very intense on the court. Exiting the playoffs in the first round so many years in a row endeared him to fans who felt bad for him. I remember people being happy for him when he finally made it past the first round. And then that "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLEEEE" made the world like him even more. I always liked him and just simply thought he was a very intense player on the court. There are guys that have all enemies when they step between the lines, but those same players would give you the shirt off their backs off the court.

Bartmac36 has no idea what the hell he is talking about. His credibility on this topic is non-existent.

Could you explain who exactly "pampers" and "spoils" Lebron and how this is done? Seems like the media loves nothing more than to trash him when he fails to win a championship (only last year and the first go around with Cleveland did he get a pass due to the utter detritus surrounding him on the roster). As we see here, fans of other teams (including fans of the team he won 2 championships for) almost universally hate him. Or is your point simply that, in general, rich athletes are pampered and spoiled?

You mean the same people who worship Ray (Bloody White Suit) Lewis don't like Tom Brady?

Oh my......

Say it ain't so?

Why would anyone care what the douchebag haters think?

No, I'm not going to play this game with you, and the notion that all the media loves nothing more than to trash Lebron is absurdity writ large. They've been fondling his chestnuts since even before he hit the NBA. They gave him his own show to announce where he was going to play basketball, for Pete's sake.

But please, you keep pretending that Mr. "I"m going to take my talents to South Beach" isn't a spoiled and pampered man, even after he got his coach fired just a short time ago. It's a slow time in the offseason, and high comedy of such an ironic position is always appreciated.

"Spoiled" implies he was given something without earning it. That is not the case here.

Yes, the media was on his "chestnuts" in high school because at the age of 16 he would've been an all-star in the NBA. Since that skill and talent level was unprecedented, it was, you know, a huge story. The media followed it intensely, not to "spoil" or "pamper" James, but to make money for themselves.

The same is true of the "Decision," the story of the free agent decision of the player that could single handledly turn any franchise in the league into a contender overnight. I hope you are not so naieve (although it would not surprise me given your comments) to think that event was broadcast for any other reason than to garner ratings and cash for ESPN. Every basketball fan I know watched it, many non-basketball fans watched it, many non-sports fans watched it. Explain how the public's interest in him and the networks' desire to exploit that for financial gain makes him "spoiled" and "pampered".

And, why does it make him spoiled that he has a say in the coach? In comparison to his once-in-a-generation talent, coaches are relatively fungible. Of course the owner is going to listen to him, because he is far more important to the organization than the coach. Do you understand how organizations work? The most powerful people call the shots. By the way, the Cavs have played their best ball under Lue, so it seems like the owner was right in "spoiling" James.

I await your non-response.

Edit: I am not arguing that participating in "The Decision" was not a mistake on his part. From a PR perspective, it was truly idiotic and I won't defend it.

I sure hope that you didn't advocate Clubbing Baby Seals at some point in your post, because I stopped reading and went with "Winner" at "First off, Phuck YOU for comparing James to Brady!!"
