OT: Golden State Warriors Sputtering Toward the End

Couple that with that everybody was gunning for GS this year and giving their best effort vs the champs and they still won 73 games... If GS wins, Lebron will be 2-5 in the finals...

Exactly. I'm not sure where GS ranks in the all-time great NBA teams as the style of game is different and the talent level is a bit more diluted but in terms of mental toughness they are right there with the greats.

I am 100% confident they will beat CLE.

All Cleveland could say last year was how they were not at full strength. Both teams are about as close as they can be. We'll see what's what this time around. But yeah, GSW has proven they have what it takes, as crazy as that statement may seem considering they won 73 games.

I have a ton of respect for their # of reg season wins but it kinda doesn't mean much to me as there have been a ton of NBA champs who have had decent regular seasons (especially older ones) and crank it up in the playoffs because they keep their cool, execute when they are supposed to and are mentally tough teams.

At the end of the day GS is a tougher team than CLE as I don't think- while very, very good Irving and Love are "tough" players. I could be wrong but I would be shocked if I was :p

I see Cleveland winning this series in 6. They can kill you from beyond the arc and they can kill you by scoring in the paint. There's just too much talent and depth on that team. Last year, with only 8 healthy bodies and Love and Irving out, they took the Warriors to six games. I think this year they're going to take it. They have the talent and the rest in order to pull it off, unfortunately.

OK, my level of BasketBall Knowledge is such that I'm not quite sure how much Time is on the 24 Second Shot Clock, and even I could understand this beautifully crafted Argument.

Beautifully put, Sir, beautifully put.

Edit: Wait. Is it 24 Seconds??

If there was one thing I was looking for in a conversation comparing players, stats, roster construction, etc, it was a sarcastic reply from you, that adds absolutely nothing to the discussion!

Wonderfully done, sir, wonderfully done!

Should be a great finals GS has got to be feeling really good about that comeback and Cleveland has everything to prove. I think n this is going 7 and GS closes out the GOAT season with back to back titles.

As a pats fan i'll have a ton of respect for GS if they pull off the historic season as we were unable to do so in the basically same situation, however im rooting for the Cavs i think. I've never fully understood the hatred for Lebron and it's about damn time the city of Cleveland has something to cheer about.

Pats fans say they respect GS or San Antonio because we are familiar with greatness, and yet can't wait to downplay Lebron's greatness at every opportunity lol

On a side note, I would love to see a dream series between the '08 celtics and the '16 warriors. Maybe the two best teams of the last decade plus.

Except they're not the same type of player at all, so your entire argument is off basis to begin with.

Jimmy Butler is a 6'7" Small Forward who guards players like LeBron and Carmelo, and does so with great success.

Avery Bradley is a 6'2" Shooting Guard who guards players like Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving, and does so with great success.

So okay, for the sake of argument, let's say they are similar players, even though they play two entirely different positions on the court.

The Celtics have a gigantic glut of young Shooting Guards waiting in the wings, such as Marcus Smart, Terry Rozier, RJ Hunter and James Young.

At Small Forward, the Celtics have the solid and hustle friendly, but mediocre, Jae Crowder and..............nobody else.

So now take a step back and review the situation: trading Bradley in a package for Butler makes a ton of sense considering you have a ton of young SG replacements, especially Marcus Smart, who after another year of seasoning, will essentially BE Bradley, and maybe better. At SF, you have...no one.

You trade Bradley for Butler every single day of the week and you don't think about it for a split second. If you don't see the big picture you have little knowledge of team construction and depth in the NBA.

Wow, did you just reply to a Compliment with an Insult??

God only knows what level of bitter, recriminous, and demented self-loathing you've got to be infested with, to lash out at somebody offering you Applause, but hey: Good luck with that.

Dallas was a 42 win team in the tougher conference. Calling that a joke, when the #8 team in the East was just a 44 win team in the weaker conference, doesn't really make sense.
West is top heavy, last couple of spots in the West weren't that good. Detroit a lot better than Dallas in the playoffs. East has more quality teams but, really only one contender. East is not the horrible conference they were in previous years.

The guy who dubiously asks how much time is in a "24 second clock" is shocked and offended when his comment is taken as sarcasm! He then hypocritically offers up insults of his own!

Shocking stuff!

Best finals matchup in years. Two evenly-matched teams. I dont have a dog in the fight, but Im a huge Lebron fan ( if youre not, you just dont like basketball), a huge Curry fan and love the resilience of the warriors. Love GS's unselfish style of play-but Lebron is the most unselfish superstar in the history of the league. Both teams can beat you in alot of ways. No way do i bet on this series. A tossup but should be fun to watch.

Great talent but total primadonna, whiney, douchebag. Quite unlikable.

I go back to the Russell years- name me one player with lebrons level of talent who played more unselfishly on the court-im not saying better, just more unselfishly-has to be a guy who has the ability to dominate a game offensively, Not Bird, not the Big O, not kareem, certainly not mj(lol) or kobe, not even magic imo. So who?

You are seriously misreading what he wrote.

I had to take a victory lap for this one, down 3-1 and they run the table. Nicely done Warriors.

Yep. You called it. I thought they were toast for sure. Kerr did a good job of adjusting to what Donovan was throwing at him and the Warriors turned it around. I hope they repeat and I'm wrong about that one as well. I hate Cleveland, their fanbase, and their douchebag owner with a passion.

No need. You just gave the answer in your 1st sentence.

I can argue 20 other players who are as "talented", more skilled and more unselfish but we would be here all day debating.

Russ' talent and contribution went far beyond scoring hoops.

It says he doesn't know how much time is in a 24 second shot clock. Either that's sarcasm or willfully ignorant, so no, I'm seriously not.

But thanks for your input though, much appreciated!

He is saying that he doesn't know much about basketball but he could still follow your argument and agreed with it.

I really don't need you to tell me what another poster typed out. I can read just fine.

For the final time, since you seem to care so much, it came across in my mind as sarcasm. If it wasn't, cool, my apoloigies, thanks for the compliment pal.

Either way, this entire trail-off is has now become a complete waste of time, so let's move along here....
