Agents notoriously use the pats to drum up interest with other teams for their clients.

Him saying no isn't a slight to the Pats, just a what if.

I agree he wanted to stay home.
However if we would of known hed be a stud the argument is we would of paid him more than a flier.
Like 9 million over 3 years he would of signed with us vs going home.

The fact that Hill's former college HC Chip Kelly, whose own team is very CB-needy, didn't put a claim on him concerns me.

I think NFL teams all needed to pay him and specifically CFLers a certain contractural amount.

Hill had some off the field issues at Oregon. With thst said, I'm not sure Chip is a great personnel guy to begin with.

The other thing is that Chip's team had a real need at safety yet he dumped Patrick Chung, who also played for him in college. And the Pats found a way to use him well. So I agree with your point; if we're talking about offensive players, then the concern would be very well founded in my opinion.

Also Chip doesnt touch players with any kind of off field issues.

Colt Lyerla is a prime example. That guy was a rare talent, and played under Chip. He never even brought him in for a shot.

This is also the guy who thought Byron Maxwell was worth 63 million, and 22 guaranteed.

That can not be overlooked. lol

Eh, Troy is a bit of a knuckle head. And honestly was more of Coach Neal's guy. Troy never really got on the field under Chip. Honestly Troy did not really flash until last year. Dude really stepped up tho. He has skills, but who knows. Besides Ifo, Oregon is not really a good place to get CB's.

Yea. With that said I'm not sure he's using Murry right.

Um, Colt's issues where pretty bad tho. Colt Made Cliff (Is their any weed in the car, no sir we smoked it all)Harris look like a choir boy.

Just so you guys know. Oregon's D well chip was their was run by Nick Aliotti. He was essentially Scar at Oregon. Chip mostly handled the O and Chip let Nick handle the D Scar style.

I love Chip, but I am pretty sure he is not the best D talent evaluator.

I disagree. Colt got caught doing drugs. In my eyes, that is minor in comparison to any type of domestic incident.
Colt got shamed really hard. If you look deep into his mishaps, none of them were truly that bad.

No different then Marcus peters choking his coach, or one of the 50 other players who had off field, or drug issues.
When he got a shot with GB, he had some bad luck, and tore his MCL. Less then a week later, he was pulled over and the officer charged him with a not Alcohol related DUI. Im sure after tearing his MCL, he was prescribed some sort of Pain Killers. That DUI was later dropped.
I Honestly feel bad for the guy. He grew up a life with no guidance and made a few minor bad decisions when he was just a young 20 years old.

My man. Colt's issues run pretty deep(Way worse then Marcus Peters). And a lot of the stories about dude that have leaked out are pretty PG compered to the rumours and what not.

Dude was a all time F up bra. And it is awful, b/c the kid was special on the field. Off the field tho, yikes.

Read about his past, his full past. If you go back to interviews from as far back as HS, his coaches and teacher's never said he was a bad person. They actually said he was a good person at heart, but never had any guidance and would tend to hang with the wrong crew and party and stuff.

Besides that DUI for being "impaired" he hasn't been in any kind of trouble in almost 3 years.
He quit on his team with the intention of leaving and transferring to USC where he was once offered a full ride Scholarship. USC was the school of his dreams but Oregon and its boosters promised him things and never made good on those promises. I don't blame him for wanting to get away from Chip the control freak, and going to USC which is a much much better school to begin with.

It would be insane to give $9 million over three years to a completely unknown, unproven player.
