I can only imagine that sometime in the distant future archaeologists will finally unearth the Holy Grail, and sitting under it will be Goodell's Deflategate decision which still hadn't been released.

....and I quote the Knight of the Templar guarding the Grail.."He chose poorly.".

Honestly, folks, focusing on Bisciotti is a smokescreen from the real villain - - Irsay.

This "Baltimore Beatdown" writer has it right (and does make some good points criticizing some of Curran's miscues in his yesterday column). Kudos to him for a very fair and balanced take. Well worth reading.

BTW, I think we can all agree on his summary point at the end:

Sadly, I see Bob Kraft reading this, feeling a stirring in his lions (sic) and thinking, "They love me. They really love me!" as he basks in the faux praise from the big boys club of 31 he Oh So Much needs to feel accepted by.
Yeah, it's like they're all playing on his need to be accepted by them. Like Kraft got into a Country Club into which he never expected to be admitted and now he's going around buying drinks in the Grill Room for everybody in sight.

I really think age has hit Bob hard. Time to let Jonathan run the show. Starting Monday.
That and Myra's fight with cancer changed him. I'm convinced of this.

For anyone who has seen how a spouse changes when they lose their true love and life partner, its understandable. Some can move on. Some put on the illusion that they are. That's Bob IMO.

Stands up to fight injustice- check
role model for fellow workers---check

faces opposition from those who should support them(spouse/owner) -check plus

Exactly.

This thing has become much bigger that being about footballs.

And it's all on Goodell for making it as such.

BTW, Irsay is GUILTY AS CHARGED.

This is an owner who is the most prolific Twitter writer of all the NFL owners.

He has yet to issue any denial of the Sal Paolontonio charge hours after Bisciotti did.

In fact, he HAS tweeted today, but it wasn't about the direct and personal charge made against him:

Jim Irsay ‏@JimIrsay 3h3 hours ago

Roster moves: http://indcolts.co/JzEfju

His silence is damning.

Baltimore is not stupid....They fed Indy juicy ball deflation stories and let Indy take it to the Principal's office. No doubt in my mind Baltimore is whispering in the pill-popping junky's ear now....GO THE DISTANCE.
Technically, Bisciotti could be telling the truth. Realistically.......

Shmessy, the Baltimore Beatdown article isn't a totally hater article, but while he writes a nice defense for the Ravens organization, but there is a big hole in that argument.

When he claimed Harbaugh never complained about "formationgate" that was a crock. He never quoted Harbaugh's post game presser where he specifically whined like a *****. He also forgot to mention that the refs not only pointed out who wasn't eligible (which they aren't required to do), they gave them (IIRC) 10 seconds or so to adjust and that's a long time in a football game.

So his entire defense that Harbaugh's only complaint was that the refs didn't give them enough time to adjust is simply BS

That being said, I don't doubt that Biscotti was another victim of ESPN's poor sports reporting. I previously thought that he was among the better owners. Let's see if he backs up his words about his respect for Kraft with some action is to be determined.

The very fact that he denied it is even more evidence that he did it.

I love deflategate logic.

That's the only fly in the ointment for me too. Agreed. The rest is pretty damn good, though, considering the source.

.
When have you EVER heard a ref say something like "Don't cover 34, don't cover 34" simplifying it for the defense?

The other thing that stuck out to me was the writer's explanation of interviewing Dean Pees:

Big surprise here. Of course Pees was interviewed. Wells left no stone unturned, and interviewing the Ravens Defensive Coordinator (who the Patriots had played just a week before) would be a no-brainer. It would also make sense that nothing from Pees was shared in the report, since most signs point to the Ravens having no knowledge of any manipulated balls.

The obvious question would be, why didn't Wells include a statement from Pees that the Ravens had no knowledge of any manipulated balls? We know he was interviewed, but we don't know what he was asked or what his responses were.

Regarding the "left no stone unturned" line, Wells spoke to Pees and Jerry Rosburg, the Ravens special teams coach. He did not, as far as we know, interview any of the Baltimore ball attendants. Why not, if he was turning over every stone? The Colts ball attendants said it was well known in the league that the Patriots illegally manipulation footballs (even though they couldn't provide any examples or a source for this story.) Wouldn't it make sense to, at a minimum, speak to the Baltimore ball attendants to see if they had heard similar rumors, considering this idea was what started the whole affair?

That said, there's nothing wrong with getting a different perspective on the situation.

Just like when it smells like someone farted, you follow the same rules: "Whoever denied it, supplied it."

That is so much BS that I'm actually checking the bottom of my shoes

"First off, the team wasn't embarrassed"

Blowing two 14Pt leads in a playoff game would make even me blush.

"We wanted an opportunity to be able to identify who the eligible players were", Harbaugh explained, "because what they were doing was they would announce the eligible player and Tom (Brady) would take it to the line right away and snap the ball before (we) even figured out who was lined up where"

That sounds like a whine to me BTW Jim why not call a TO

"In no part of this do I see Harbaugh accusing the Patriots. It wasn't what they did, but how the situation was addressed by the officials that aroused Harbaugh. "

Yea he whined about so much that they changed the rules

BTW, I think Bisciotti's a pretty good owner and might even believe his defense.

The BIG story is that nothing is heard yet from the drunken sonny boy in India-No-Place. Just crickets.

To me THAT is the story, not Bisciotti.

Screw the Colts, their hick fans and their disreputable owner.

Seriously, what did Irsay ever do for the NFL to warrant Goodell being his waterboy at the expense of a true league builder like Kraft?
Unfortunately, you have it backwards. Irsay is the waterboy for Goodell and the Jets alumni that run the League. The fact that Kraft is as you put it a true League builder means absolutely nothing to Goodell and his 31 competitors in the League. Kraft has lost the capacity to differentiate between smoke being blown up his rear in the form of platitudes of he is an honorable person and do it for the good of the league and the reality that he has no friends or respect among his peers in their effort to bring down his team.
