“I only care about our fans,” Bob Kraft

Here is the bottom line. He knows the stadium is going to be packed opening night. they may boo him or goodell but after the first pats TD everyone will cheer and come back for more again. thats all he cares for. If people somehow can skip the game and make them play in the empty stadium it will be great but wont happen.Lot of non pats fans and corporates will still buy the tkts and fill it up like some concert.

That's the way to have the most impact. Go to the game, stay in the parking lot, don't go into the stadium. National TV game even non football fans will be watching. Can you imagine the cameras scanning the empty seats and what the media will do with this both directed at Kraft and the NFL. What a way to start the NFL season on national TV. Pats fans have spoken.

HEY BOB

I know all of us on here are done with Kraft but what's it like in Boston and New England right now? Are they done with Kraft as well?

He figures this is just a hissy fit by the fan base, and that he can just ride the storm. Historically speaking, he's likely right.
I would normally agree, but if anything can get you permanently on the Boston **** list, I think throwing Brady under the bus just might be it. For two solid generations of Boston sports fans, Brady is their #1 guy, and in all likelihood will be for life. I dunno if there's any coming back from that if you're Kraft.

I hate to say it, but you're probably right.

There is some hope. Hopefully, enough true fans leave for good after this fiasco. More and more caring parents will forbid their children from playing football due to serious injury risk. More and more high schools will abandon football programs for the same reason. The student loan bubble will burst and colleges (and their football programs) close down en masse.

If there's any justice, this will be the beginning of the end for the NFL. Good riddance!

If I'm Brady I'm thinking get me the eff out of here. This guy told me he was behind me %100. Now he's up Goody's a22. What a chump.

He's 100% behind Brady, and he's 100% about the fans, as long as it doesn't interfere with the full 32 and his wallet.

He's 100% behind Brady as long as he doesn't have any reason at all not to be.

Opening day will be interesting. I guess they can just fill the stadium with local office zombies stuffed in Patriots jerseys. If any real Patriots fans show up outside to protest, they will be characterized as "honks" and a fringe movement. Sorry state of affairs, indeed.

Some of us have very good memories about people who shafted the fans. I remember Heywood Sullivan getting rid of Carlton Fisk so his son could take his place. No this will not be forgotten.

So in a few short days, Kraft has
1) Turned back on the only fan base that should matter in favor of 31 others who only wish the worst for the Pats
2) Turned back on Brady (implicitly) by not defending him at all in his surrender speech.
3) Suspended 2 working stiffs before the official punishment for who knows what reason, the benefit of the 32?

Anyone still have total respect for him now?

The stadium will still sell out, but the overwhelming prevalence of the wine and cheese crowd will be even more pronounced than usual. If Kraft sees a hit at all, it won't be in ticket sales. It might be in the size of the waiting list, sales of merchandise, and revenue coming out of Patriot Place.

Is he physically ill? Some of the things he is saying and doing make no sense.

At this point, anyone who buys anything at the stadium, buys tickets if they don't already have them or buys 'official' Patriots/NFL merchandise in general, is implicitly accepting what happened.

I'm simply coming to terms with the death of the NFL and am using this forum as a support group.

Maybe I simply cared too much about something that wasn't worth caring about. I don't mean Brady or Belichick, I believe to my core they were the best ever and were unfairly maligned by people with envious agendas. But with a tyrant as a commissioner with apparently unchecked power; a 24/7 forum of blathering idiots calling themselves the sports media that I can't tune out no matter how hard I try (can't go to a bar or an airport without being forcibly subjected to their drivel); venomous rival fans insane with envy crowding out the good natured rivalry types; billionaire owners who prostitute the sport for a couple extra bucks they don't really need; this is something I can do without.
