Peyton "rule change" Manning at it again

hey ran and ban....before you run your mouth on ANY opposing fan board, perhaps you should, you know, arm yourself with these pesky things called F-A-C-T-S. You obviously are extremely ill informed. Moronic Jet fans used to pull the same tuck rule idiocy all the time until the game log from the regular season when the Pats played them, the exact same tuck rule was enforced in favor of THEM. Your ignorance of PLAIN FACT denotes a troll...an ignorant, uninformed troll.

That you moronically attribute the Carson Palmer rule to Brady's injury is just further proof of your shallow, uninformed grasp of NFL history. One thing you CAN hang your hat on though, your QB is in one of the two greatest .gifs of all time...one being the Buttfumble and the other THIS...

I know. Deadwood was spectacular and it was ended before intended. Timothy Olyphant continues his excellence in Justified although coming season is it for that show also. Al Swearingen, we hardly knew ye...

One reason my wife doesn't watch football live is that when she does and the Patriots screw up "Miss Proper" sounds like the ladies of Deadwood.

Um... no. That's fact. The issue was pushed by Polian, who was in the competition committee after Manning was intercepted numerous times in the playoffs in 2003 at Gillette. Polian was said to be "furious" at the amount of penalties against the receivers by our corners that went uncalled. The Colts, at that time, were an offense-first team and the new rules would have only standed to benefit them. As it turns out, we just beat his ass again the next year.

Oddly enough, the point of emphasis on the rules changes that originally took place back in '04 only occurred this offseason after the golden boy, once again, got his **** pushed in on national television.

I can't find the article but Bill Polian actually wanted no contact at all according to Mike Pereira. If you eventouched the receiver Polian wanted a flag. Mike Pereira of course thought that was ridiculous.

The Chargers know a lot about Eli's whining.
And crying and stamping his feet and screaming,"I won't go, I won't go and nobody can make me!" And you know what? He was right.

Guy never stood a chance.

Here:
Pereira says emphasis on illegal contact "didn't seem logical | ProFootballTalk

Among other things, Pereira talked about the renewed emphasis that was placed in the middle of the last decade on the rule regarding illegal contact with receivers. Pereira made it clear that Colts president Bill Polian, a long-time member of the Competition Committee, pushed the issue due to the perception/reality that Patriots defensive backs were manhandling Indianapolis receivers.

He's pretty much throwing his defense under the bus IMO.

The team stands a better chance of winning if it's up to him.

Should defenses even be allowed to take the field against Peyton? They might disrupt his receivers routes.
Maybe the league should just let him march up the field in peace, without any pesky defenders around to ruin his coronation to GOAT.

While we're at it, televising his big games has had a negative impact on his play. Too much pressure.

Why don't we just watch documentaries about his childhood while the game is on, then afterwards, someone can tell us what happened so he's less likely to choke in big games?

Or we could just cancel the entire season, and instead of football, Peyton can visit every stadium in the country for 17 weeks, doing laps in a gold chariot while he waves to the crowd.

And in the opposite corner from Points of Emphasis: the complete lack of calls against the Donkey
receivers who were picking/rubbing/whatever the Seattle defenders before the passes were caught,
if not even thrown, is an absolute disgrace.

Does this mean I won?

It's going to be funny watching the panic in Peyton's eyes when he takes the field in the playoffs and, suddenly, the referees let the defense actually play now that fantasy football doesn't need to be assisted by these bogus "points of emphasis".

Yes...yes it does.

If I didn't, I should go back and tag your posts "winner".

Nice. Always good to win. To @runandgun, you tried as hard as you could, but sometimes it's not enough.

Rule changes..........like the penalty for hitting a QB low, mysteriously being implemented after Brady got hurt??????

Brushing the dust of the rule book to find the tuck rule...............

The rule was made after Carson Palmer got hurt and emphasized after Brady's injury. If it was Manning that went down for the season - the same thing would have happened.

"Brushing the dust" - I saw the tuck rule called a few times before that playoff game once that same season where it went AGAINST the Patriots. I don't think there was any dust on it at all...

Let's be honest though, the Polian point of emphasis probably gave us Brady's 2007 season.... just sayin.

I think Brady could have put up similar stats even without the emphasis on illegal contact.

He'd do well... but I doubt he'd throw 50 TD. These rules have been just as beneficial for Brady as for Manning IMO.
