I know the Ravens have/had a great defernse the last 5 or so year but I have not watched them play much. When I do watch them I try to follow Ray Lewis.
What can we except from him?
thanks

Someone who likes to be a football player. He can easily cover the slot receiver, he can play any position on the D-line at a high level. Baltimore even put him at saftey once.

Hes very good. Hes fast, real big and strong. Hes a very good pass rusher..very good in coverage and doesnt miss tackles. Hes usually around the ball and when he gets it..he usually scores :\

He is god :D :D :D

He also played corner! (Gee, wasn't that him selling beer in the stands at half time?) Put Ocho Stinko on his ass!

Carolinatony. Picture Willy Mac, except a little bigger and a lot faster, with Tedy's heart and mind, Rodneys temperment, and the coverage ability of your average DB. Stir it all up and give that guy to BB to scheme with!:D

Very smart high character guy. They call him "The Coordinator" in Baltimore because of his knowledge of the defensive system. Extremely active in the community -- politics, charitable activities, etc.

Extremely athletic. 270 pounds, 4.53 forty. Excellent in coverage (has played safety for the Ravens in some formations), excellent pass rusher (averages 9 or 10 sacks per year over the last three years). Ideal guy to cover TEs (think Gates and Dallas Clark). Big enough to bump 'em at the line, quick enough to make plays in coverage.

Extremely versatile. Has lined up at DT, DE, ILB, OLB, SS, and CB for the Ravens. The Pats can use this versatility to switch between a base defense and a nickle package when the Colts no-huddle keeps them from bringing in sub packages.

Outstanding special teams player. Went to his first ProBowl in 2003 as a special teams player after leading the Ravens in special teams tackles. Played gunner, yes gunner, at 270 pounds. Wes Welker said the first time he saw him coming, he just called for a fair catch.

In short, if you were to draw up a prototype Patriots player, it would look a lot like Adalius Thomas. This is a huge signing. You're looking at a Rodney Harrison, Tedy Bruschi, Richard Seymour type contributor. Big play guy who was signed specifically to counter the Chargers and Colts offenses that we could NOT get off the field last year.

BTW he has the most sacks for any LB in the NFL during the last 3 seasons.

I'm sure that'll have the locker room in stitches.

he was the player i hoped the Pats would have tried to get in free agency and i was very very satisfied and excited when i heard he came to us

imho he will be an impact player

i'm looking forward to see him in our uniform

he will become one of my favourite players !

I had read somewhere that he was very smart in football savia
He should help us get that 4th SB this year
thanks all

He's so good that Chuck Norris respects him.

I was watching the baltimore and colts game as to see what he did.
He many plays he was liningup against wayne.

He's not bigger than Willie was, Willie is 6'5" and 270, but he is apparently much faster, and better in coverage. Now he just needs to show he was as clutch as Willie, McGinest was one of the most clutch defensive players in Patriot's AND NFL history.

Winner (AD) joins winnners (PATS) and we win it all.

AZ for #4

What an outstanding pick up - The #1 free agent this year!!

Honestly, I'm a little worried myself. Take a look at all of the freak athletes on the Ravens D and you have to wonder if he is benefiting off of other players. Teams have to account for Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Terrell Suggs, Trevor Pryce and Bart Scott. There were too many guys to account for and it helped Thomas and company rack up sacks. Don't get me wrong, Thomas is a great player, but I'm worried he could be a product of the system. If we want to see Thomas have the same success he did in Baltimore, the Pats need more athleticism on defense. This upcoming draft will certainly help.

The Pats didn't sign Thomas because they need more sacks, although he'll do that, too. The Pats were fifth in the NFL in sacks last season and second in the NFL in points allowed.

They signed Thomas for one reason. Big play athleticism to stop Antonio Gates and Dallas Clark from killing them over the middle and get offenses like the Chargers and Colts off the field on third down every once in a while.

hey bud, i always like ur posts, but ur a lil off here
hes smaller than willie, three inches shorter and prob two lbs lighter
he def is faster though, speed wise hes like the young pre-injuries willie
believe me when i say i'll be watching how good he is at holding that edge against the run, as ive been extremely disapointed with the way vrabel and colvin have done in this area of their game, rosie always gets sucked in, and vrabel cant seem to get off his blocks quick enough, or push his blockers in the right direction
willie was amazing at holding that edge, and i guess i got spoiled watching him do it so perfectly

as for the coverage ability he's prob better than phifer, and thats sayin a lot
