From a Colts fan. Were nervous on both sides simply because no one wants their teams season to end tomorrow.

I have a friend who plays on the Patriots and hes talking about how the Pats will crush the Colts. lol. Cant hate him though, that's his job. Im surprised im still a loyal Colts fan.

I wish it was the first game and not the last because I hate the anticipation waiting all day.

What are your feelings going into tomorrow?

Check out the Colts/Pats pregame discussion thread to get a better sense.

My personal feeling is that I feel the same as you. Excited but nervous at the same time. I do believe that we're the better overall team, but the injury situation, one game playoff momentum, and even the weather could screw this up tremendously and anything can happen in only one game.

I do know that we're 4-0 vs teams that are ranked in the bottom 10 in terms of run defense (IND at 26th), averaging 175 ypg in those contests. In comparison, they were 8-4 vs teams which weren't ranked in the bottom 10 in run defense. I expect that they'll be attempting to run the ball as effectively as possible, along with working it between the 20s in the shorter passing game. I think we have the advantage, but again....there are circumstances where IND can definitely win tomorrow, so I'd never claim that we're definitely going to win.

Nice post Coltsfan. Deductive reasoning suggests your friend is a WR who shares a name with a city in Texas.

IMHO this is a matchup of similar teams. They don't win because they do one thing extremely well, they win by playing fairly solid all the way around along with mental toughness.
I'm cautiously optimistic thanks to HFA/the expected weather. IMHO this one thing gives the Patriots some extra margin for error, makes Indy have to execute an extra step better to get the win. But that's all theory, the matchup looks fairly close to me with either team good enough to win tonight...

I know I'm not the brighest, and that it's 4am--but do give a larger hint.

Still would've much rather played against Cincy myself. I hope that my thinking is off here, and that those who wanted Indy are right, but I've never seen it myself aside from them having an easier defense to run on. I know that CIN couldn't score away from home to save themselves, and that's why I wasn't as concerned. We'll have to see how it works out later tonight.

I don't like the weather factor either. Many here have pointed out how much that obviously helps us. Then again, they claimed the same thing last year vs BAL in the AFCCG, and we had the ball inside FG range 8 times and couldn't risk attempting to kick due to the wind; which helped us to come away with a total of 13 pts....

I'm guessing Austin Collie...just a guess though.

Thanks. I was thinking he meant last names instead, so that's what threw me off.

I knew there was a "Dodson" Texas, but not a "Dobson." ;)

I never ever made it to first names, or Austin would have been fairly easy to assume.

change your handle to superDUR....

My feelings? Idk there's going to be a nice quantity of liquor swishing around my stomach afterward...the question is...a happy drunk or a sad drunk?

I am nervous about every elimination game.

I wanted Cincy too. Would you rather face a stout defend or a top notch QB? I felt that Dalton would gift wrap us the win despite their defensive efforts. Not as confident against Indy.

How can you tolerate Bob Lamey? He has the most irritating voice in all of broadcasting. That's reason enough to stop being a Colts fan.

Can go either way. A team can't go far with a crappy QB in the playoffs.

A great QB with a suspect running game or defense also doesn't go very far in the playoffs.

In theory, the Colts have a suspect running game and defense

You can make the case that the Pats have a suspect defense (although I think their pass defense is pretty damn good).

and here I am thinking ...when did the Pats sign Dallas Clark....

Pats potential rust along with colts having playoff momentum and Luck make me nervous. But Iam nervous about every pats game because they always raise expectations. Indy is playing on house money ,pressure is on the pats to execute.

This season, most Pats games are edge of the seat experiences. I do not expect this one to be any different.

The Colts have showed the ability to play, and beat, any team in the NFL. Even with injuries changing your team, nobody should lose sight of that. I was more surprised that the Colts needed to come back to win, not that they won the game against the Chiefs.

So expect a tough, entertaining game. And enjoy it, along with the fact no team in the playoffs right now owns a ticket to the Super Bowl, regardless of the Vegas line or championship odds.

Just to throw a curve ball at the speculation, there is also a Boyce, TX - though a Colt fan who is friends with a person who at one time lived in the Indianapolis area does make Collie the more likely player TBS was referring to.

Are you going to tell us how you know Chris Barker is the backup centre and not Dan Connolly sliding inside? I'm really curious.
