If we're paying Welker 4 million a year, he's starting.

Welker would probably be best in the slot.

hes getting 3.62 but who knows with BB what this kid becomes

Jackson won't play for at least the first have of the season though right, maybe the entire season?

So here's what I see if we sign Stallworth:

Stallworth as the the #1, Gaffney as the #2 (Caldwell can take some snaps there too, but to be honest I think they're both pretty even, but I'll take the guy with smaller eyes) Welker at #3, Caldwell/Gaffney at #4, and Brown at #5.

But I think people will rotate in at the #2 WR position between Caldwell, Gaffney and Brown.

Either way, if we get Stallworth and Jackson back and healthy, this could be one of the more dangerous WR groups in the NFL.
The general word seems to be that Jackson has a better than even chance to be back for training camp. Nothing for sure, though.

We really don't know. We've heard people say he could be back as early as training camp.

Beaten again.

Except this one is not an immature rookie. Stallworth is a proven #1 NFL WR, so we should be excited. Depth is a wonderful thing.

i hope he does come to NE, then my prediction from 4 months ago will be right, before anyone even heard his name being brought up that he was a free agent. He would fit in here great and looking forward to seeing him on the field this season.

How can you be looking forward to seeing him on the field when he hasn't even been signed?

This is unbelievable news. Donte Stallworth (possibly) after all the signings this weekend? Jezuz this team will be loaded, absolutely loaded. :rocker:

I don't think I am going to get too excited about this, as I am Canadian i don't have a clue as to who is actually a good source for NFL info,is this Schefter reliable? If not, who is?

I dont think there is anyway that Welker doesnt get the #2 spot before Gaffney.

Depending on the contract, this would be the first BB/SP move in quite some time that I wasn't on board with.

Just don't like Stallworth much as a player. Add in the Substance Abuse issue, and it just leaves me feeling somewhat less than enthused.

I don't think it really matters who is 1 and 2 and 3. They're all going to see a lot of snaps; it's not we're switching to the 3 yards/cloud of dust

I want Donte Stallworh , sign him to a 2 yr deal with some incentives.. I know this substance abuse thing is a drag, but I want him.. And the way this free agency is goin we could get him.. If we get Donnie Edwards to boot, oh boy this will be a dream offseason...

Ok, even better. It's hard to keep up with all the Chad Jackson talk.

From Adam Schefter of NFL Network:

Around the league, there are questions about Stallworth's character. But Stallworth is willing to take a one-year deal with New England, the team he would love to play for if he doesn't return to Philadelphia, to prove his value to the Patriots and around the league.

Stallworth recently talked about how much the Patriots appealed to him, and now New England is giving him a chance to say the same thing to its coaches and front office.

If this is true, it looks like the Pats could get Stallworth at very low risk. I'd be on board with that, because even with all the concerns I've got with him, if he did pan out he would be a huge addition! :rocker:

Schefter has been DEAD ON ever since the start of Free Agency. No exaggeration. He has reported a heck of a lot of signings and even before they were signed. He has been right every time. ;)
