Once you get into the tournament, anything can happen - - just ask the 2001 Pats, the 2012 Ravens or the 2011 Giants.
The problem with 2008 was that there was at least one other AFC East team capable of winning 11 games.
That's not the situation this year.
Just get to the tournament and hopefully Brady is better by then.
.....and make us go 11-5 with no running game.
Give me a break.
The Pats have a far better OL and running game than in 2008 and Mallett is a better prepared QB than Cassel was then.
Who in the AFC East is anywhere as good as they were in 2008? Nobody. With or without Brady, the Pats at least win the division in a cakewalk.
The hard part would be the playoffs.

looks like he got hit in the shin with a helmet ... that smarts pretty good
He does wear a brace which should go a long way in preventing or at least limiting structural damage.
He wasn't wearing the brace for whatever reason.
No playoffs that year.....
Read the 3rd sentence in my post again.
Practice just concluding. Heading down for player interviews. Will relay any newsworthy comments regarding Tom Brady.
Those three teams had capable quarterbacks. Most Super Bowl winning teams do. If Brady went down, the Patriots would not. But your last sentence indicates that you agree anyway.
Wow, might want to calm down a bit hombre. Let's hold off before we learn there was an amputation. If this is a significant injury, this will go down as the most cursed year in Patriots' history. Granted it may already be with the whole Hernandez mess.
Ryan Mallet is no Eli Manning and this defense is no 2001 ravens...Brady better be ok. Hopefully this is just extreme caution. Let's face it, if they have trouble winning this division they have zero shot at a title. Kinda baffles me some people would rather see a divisional opponent lose when they are playing a team such as Denver or Houston who will challenge us for homefield. But, that's another topic of discussion.
