Patriots Sign Tim Tebow

Was talking Tebow tonight with the pals, and during the part about his situation last year with the Jets, -bam-, it dawned on me... Why the hell didn't Tebow get a shot to run the Beans when Sanchez got benched? Seriously, if there was one starting QB in the league last year who Tebow might have legitimately have been a better option, it was over 'Cheese running the Jets.

Because he just isn't good. They had him all year, they coached him, worked with him, practiced him. The result of their evaluation? He wasn't good enough to be on the field except in very rare cases, and they didn't want him back.

I don't understand how people think the guy who couldn't beat out Sanchez (or McElroy either) is somehow a great talent who just got spit on.

re: Should Tim Tebow be used as a QB or TE

I can image training camp going like this

I know there is one thread of thought that Tebow is being unjustly held down, almost like a Christian persecution mentality.

However, the flip side of this (more realistic) is that Tebow isn't a NFL QB, multiple teams and experts know this, and that he's been getting chances and opportunities that other players would not get if they had the exact same talent. The flip side suggests that his rabid fanbase is getting him opportunities just because he's a marketing gimmick and that his fanbase aren't even fans of the team, they just scream for him to play and root for the team to fail if they don't play him.

All these new Tebow lovers and haters on the site really annoy me.

Oh wait these are all the regular posters:bricks:

Hey, look at the bright side. Joker found a Tebow poster who's only been here a year and a half. That should be worth another 30 or 40 posts. :bricks:

If Brady comes off the field even once, we riot.

Hey I found one who has only been here 2 days.

Your claims about the "flip side" simply aren't true.

re: Should Tim Tebow be used as a QB or TE

Ugh...i'm sick of hearing about Tebow.

The dude has never played TE if i'm not mistaken so why would he suddenly be a viable option on a team stacked with TEs? And please don't compare him to AH athletically. That was a laugh.

I am not saying Tebow can play tight end ( I really don't know) but you mentioned comparing Aaron and Tebow athletically. These were results from the combine on events they both participated in and i wouldn't say its laughable. (again this is not about Tebow at tight end it simply in regards to the athleticism comment)

40 Time
Hernandez 4.64
Tebow 4.71

Broad Jump
Tebow 9.07
Hernandez 9.03

Vertical leap
Tebow 38.5
Hernandez 33

3 Cone Drill
Tebow 6.66
Hernandez 6.83

Shuttle Time
Tebow 4:17
Hernandez 4:18

re: Should Tim Tebow be used as a QB or TE

ridiculous...laughably preposterous

the measure of Aaron Hernandez to Tebow as far as value to the Pats is hands, running proper routes and coming out of breaks...good God stop this insanity

re: Should Tim Tebow be used as a QB or TE

another Tebow thread to ignore ... I'm rolling.

Seriously bro? Just watch both of those guys move on a football field and you see the difference. **** the combine horse****. That's why we have the Vernon Gholston's of the world

AH is a smooth fluid athlete, probably top 5 at what he does when healthy. Tebow is the stiff FB/backup QB that he is. No way in hell is Tebow running those routes getting seperation and then actually making guys miss like AH. Nvm catching the football. Has Tebow ever caught one?

Just in case you forgot who AH is.

Well...**** me...now all we need is the D to start holding opposing teams to 10 points and having Ghost kick 60 yarders.

Playoffs here we come!
Apparently college stats translate to the NFL against professionals.

Re: Should Tim Tebow be used as a QB or TE

Since the other thread was filled with alot of bs, I figured I make this thread solely on what role do we want the pats to use Tebow. I would like to see him develop as a quarterback. I think his biggest problem is his throwing motion. He needs to get that fixed.

He needs to live, breath practicing on how to fix his throwing motion into a normal one and have it become instinctual too him. What I mean by that is when he is getting pressured by LB/DB is a game, I don't want him reverting back to his ugly throwing motion but instead maintaining the normal throwing motion.

Second he needs to work on reading opposing defenses. He is working with the best coach in football and one of the best offensive coordinators on josh Mcdaniels so that shouldn't be a problem in the long run.

Wouldn't our time be better spent developing a QB who doesn't have a flawed throwing motion that has not been fixed after 3 years in the NFL, and that doesn't struggle to read defenses?

Better yet, wouldn't our time be better spent using the roster spot on a corner we can develop who could play well if we have another rash of injuries, or a DE with some pass rush skills that needs to develop more of them?

Ive been coasting on every site, and this has become a joke to most. But its no joke to us. When you went to the playoffs NO was solid from the beginning and only on the Patriots side. Because we know your coach and QB are probably the best to play the game, and your fans and team are of amazing character.
We have no idea what BB has in mind by hiring Tebow, but we know its not a stunt or grasp to sell jerseys like the jets. Tebow would not be walking onto a patriots field unless BB and Tom think he can contribute, and is the best pick for the job. I dont , like most saints fans, agree with his out spoken belief in a god on the football field. Even Brees doesnt talk much about it, because its not excepted here to say things like that, but you cant deny that the boy doesnt have heart.
Maybe its that heart BB wants. Personaly I think its a backup TE, wich tebow might excell at. Ive heard BB say a number of time threw the years that the team lacks a mental toughness on the road. Not my words his.
Truth is, no one knows, only BB and hes got your team to the playoffs consistently for years.
Welcome to the team Tebow. IF your on the 52 man roster, you desurve it.

ps I did stop from congratulating you for getting to, and winning playoff games because I thought i was a jinx, well thats going to stop. Im just going to post what I feel, hope thats ok. Win boys.. well dont win so much vs us :)

Apparently college stats translate to the NFL against professionals.

To be fair though, those stats were produced vs mostly SEC competition, college football's best conference.

OTOH, Tebow did look terrible last season. Perhaps being exposed to the green toxic sludge of Joizy
poisoned his football gestalt.
So I see nothing wrong with signing him to a zero-comittment contract to find out if that gestalt
can be recovered, as a QB or something else.

I think AH is a great NFL TE and Tebow is not even close (Tebow is not even a TE!) we are not in disagreement AT ALL.
I think it makes you mad though see the actual factual combine results though .Try to figure out why because I NEVER said Tebow was even a tight end ...try reading my post again

What is laughable and preposterous is your response.

This wasn't about value to the pats
This wasn't about running routes
This wasn't about coming out of breaks

Keep fighting your one man battle though

that offends you?...that a poster at J.I. posts the same Tebow propaganda that is posted here?

I'll remove the post if it bothers you that much....

Ok you are clearly baiting him now. That's is not right. Last time I checked that is against the rules.

Funniest part about that is how wrong Joker was. That's MY avatar over at JI :)

I know it is, moron...and NOW you're here...just as predicted.

For all the Pats fans who have never surfed Jets Insider...THIS is the infamous Demosthenes, the biggest Tebow troll extant....he and his cohorts invaded and completely disrupted J.I. last season with their Tebow idolatry and now they have set their sights on Patsfans. The ignore function is your only defence.

Is it against forum rules to personally insult people on here ? Is it ok to call them morons? and as far as trolls , you have been non stop trolling since Tebow was signed

You really need to give it a rest .

You posted a ridiculous homage once again to your Tebow. Every Pats fan knows everything YOU do, moron. No one here needs YOU to post ANYTHING about your precious Tebow. Why don't you stay on the ESPN board with the rest of your legion of Tebowites...no one here will bother you and your little patty cake Tebow party.
