Lots of hype around Mr. Flacco recently based on his playoff performances of late. He seems to have done awfully well against us in the last few matchups as well, but I have a feeling it's going to turn around tomorrow, here's why:
1.) No secret that the Ravens make a lot of scratch on the deep ball. We're expecting 20+ mph winds tomorrow. It's hard to imagine the Ravens attempting many deep throws if the wind is consistently blowing that hard. The balloon he threw to Smith last week would have been in the stands.
Also, he completed 3 balls over 30 in our first game. We've only allowed 2 over 30 in our last 8 games. We're playing the deep ball far better than in the first matchup.
2.) Our secondary is world's better than any time we've played them in the last few years.
3.) Felger, of all people, has been harping on how Flacco can't throw left, and it's pretty spot on. His right to left ratio is >3:1 (It was 23:8 in our first matchup). With our new found success in the secondary, I hope to hell that we load up coverage on the right side and blitz the ever living piss out of him.
4.) Coincidentally, as another poster pointed out, Flacco doesn't handle the blitz well. I don't know how often we blitzed in the first matchup, but we were rarely blitzing early in the season, so it was likely limited. This time around I doubt he's so lucky.
A few people have said he's due for a bad game. That's BS. He's going to play well if we give him the opportunity to play well. Unfortunately for Joe, I don't think he's going to have the opportunity.
