I tried to bump the following from 2009, only to see that the mods had deemed it useless then. So I'm quote/pasting it instead.

Really? you have got to be kidding me.

3 losses by a total of 4 points

should be 6-0 but we didn't execute

Lots of football to go folks. I'm not giving up yet.

Well, you can forget about that first round bye. And historically, the Pats haven't faired well without that bye. I'll keep watching and hoping but not feeling good about this season moving forward.

Always is an irrational statement, TB began to struggle when it started to rain harder and the ball was wet.

The wet ball didn't seem to affect Wilson too much.

Where art thou Scrubendary? :(

Ihedigbo, Nate Jones, Antwan Molden

how did this team win a super bowl with earthwind moreland and troy brown playing secondary and now they can't stop anybody throwing up hail marys

I can't count how many times over the last 2-3 years we have had offenses backed up, in trouble or in the spot we want them only to have our CBs, DB's or Safteys give up a big play to extend the drive."

This is why BB needs to give up the reigns of drafting secondary personnel going forward....he just doesn't make good decisions in drafting these players. They should take their first picks and GET A SHUTDOWN or TOP TIER CB...rather than drafting a rugby player with only one year under his belt or a bunch of sub par "project players" that are NEVER going to get it done.....I think Kraft needs to make BB bring in a defensive coordinator to help draft secondary players....

OTE=jsull87;3198638]I choose these words carefully as i don't want them to be misconstrued as an over reaction to this one game.

This team is a good team, we do a lot of things very well and some things great. Brandon spikes had a great game today and so did Chandler Jones and Wilfork with little to no rest.

But this team will continue to frustrate us and let us down in pivotal situations because the fact remains that when a team passes the ball middle to deep, runs play action or just throws up jump balls we more often than not give up the play.

I can't continue to defend this secondary because the fact remains they are the worst secondary i have seen in the league and you can have all of the good pieces you like but when you have a weakness as glaring and as exploitable as our secondary is... i just can't see how we can beat elite teams consistently. Which lets face it is how we judge our patriots team.

I don't know what the answer is but all i know is if i was an opposing coach i would Run, Run, Play action deep ball consistently against us as Russell Wilson showed put it up there and the pats will either give you a flag or give up the catch.

Yes we had our opportunities and we could have executed in x,y,z a position on offense but we all know why we lost this and most other games this year.

I am one frustrated Pats Fan today boys.[/QUOTE]

If I were an opposing offensive coordinator I would literally call for a deep ball every single play of the game. You are virtually guaranteed a completion or at very least a PI call against this secondary.

I have watched the patriots lose in the last two minutes far too many ******* times in the last 5 years. I would bet against the Pats D in the final two minutes with the game on the line against ANY offense almost 100% of the time.

Jesus, this team is getting to me this year.

Ladies and Gentlemen ...be prepared to hear this all week long....

The New York Football Jets are in First place in the AFC East  :bricks:

The last few seasons it's hard to feel comfortable with a two score lead.

Brady was so ******* inaccurate today, tons of balls at his target's feet or sailed it over their heads. He can't throw the deep ball to a WR in stride, he's always off.

He sustained a concussion, give him a pass on this one.

this, they made every one with ease.

The Patriots just gave up 283 yards at 10.5 a pop to Russell Wilson. That should tell you enough about this team.

If that is the case, then the coaches are absolutely failing them by not helping them by being more creative in their coverage schemes.

It is just ridiculous watching it, even I, can see what coverage they are playing from my screen! I used to remember watching our defense being so unpredictable and exotic in our schemes something that BB was renowned for. But now, i'm starting to think he was never the one designing those schemes it was Romeo and Mangini. Since they left our defense has been Vanilla and bend but dont break and as a result the worst secondary in the history of secondary's lol.

all on the O today...just look at the redzone numbers..grounding..TOs in RZ

Pats gave up 24...we should have scored MUCH more than 24.

Why, specifically, does our defensive backfield suck so bad in the fourth quarter. Even when the team hangs on for a win, in the last 10 minutes of games they don't even provide minimal resistence. This was a 10 point game through 50 minutes and then they just crap the bed.

When PATs put small inexperienced or weak DBs on the field do you not know
the opposition offense sees that and will immediately target such DBs?

I can not name one Patriot DB that I would name as a top NFL DB.
Can you? Is there one in the top 40 DBs of the league?

You all should remember that the field was wet. The WR knew where they were going and the Pats DB's didn't. Its hard to change direction on a dime on a wet field, and it really started to rain in the second half. Its always harder on the D when the conditions are bad. But why am i bothering to post this no one cares, Brady sucks, the DBs suck, the owner is cheap he sucks to right?

The O could have done a bit more, the secondary could have done a LOT better. Really, this loss is on them, no question.

I like Russell Wilson and think he'll be a Top 7 QB in four years, but today he was just gambling and winning over and over again. That's what's so frustrating about this loss, it felt like Seatlle's scores were way more luck then skill.
