Absolutely. But this game should have been 17-0 at the point where it was 14-13, and it just went downhill from there. The Pats as a whole played pretty poorly and still should have won that game.

What do you mean? They actually did win it, except for the phantom field goal call at the end of the game.

I'm guessing the ALL 22 site will have every single angle,or every possible angle of that game winning FG.....IF the shots show conclusively, using the correct angles, that the FG was actually wide right...THEN WHAT?...and if Goodell fines Belichick six figures for touching the ref while remaining silent about the botched call that COST the Patriots a game...THEN WHAT? and if the league is going to continue to allow cheap shots ,pushing and shoving multiple (seven to eight this game)times at the start of games, what happens when it continues until someone is seriously injured post play? THEN WHAT?

The real truth here is the NFL does not give a crap about me, you or ANY fan, what we think or what we care about...we are just sheep wearing dollars for skin, to be sheared to the tune of billions of dollars and untold profits for everyone lucky enough to have an interest in the "GOLDEN 32 COWS"....we will continue to be milked, and lied to, and treated like inconsequential bugs while they continue to bathe in our dollars, like five ton pigs at a trough of neverending gold coins....

I'm pretty sure that this game was the worst officiated NFL game I've ever watched. I think all but one of the Ravens' scoring drives were aided by mulligans via the officials. This doesn't even start to touch on the muggings that were happening to the Pats' front 7 and Gronk...

Re: SuperBowl 47: JAGS Vs RAMS

Belichick deserves to be fined, but at least his actions took place after the game was over.

I disagree. All Bill was doing was trying to get the Ref to stop, and talk to him, and the ref wouldnt. So Bill grabbed his arm. He just wanted to talk. There is no need to fine him. If the NFL does fine him, I really hope Kraft stands up for this team, and his coach, and tells the rest of the nfl to go F*** themselves. Yes, im still bitter about *****gate.

Just for the record, the Pats did enough to lose the game on their own. I'm not placing the blame solely on the refs. They suck, but its not their fault we lost tonight.

Lets discuss some of the most ridiculous calls of the night, I'll start with Flacco was being pressured so he intentionally threw it towards the ground to stop the play but the refs called pass interference bc it was near a recievers feet. Someone should make a YouTube video of all the bad calls,

I disagree the defense had stopped the ravens but the ravens got bailed out. If not for that the defense would've had a few 3 and outs.

Again, though, when the refs alter the course of the game as radically as they did (see: phantom PIs and phantom non-PIs), how can you really say that the Pats played poorly enough to lose the game?

When I saw that I ******* lost it. He straight up punched Edelman!

Also, I found a video of the field goal and I'm pretty sure it was missed. Here's a screenshot:

Yes, and that's the point I'm making. Goodell knows that even with the Marx Brothers refereeing these games, the NFL will remain just as popular as always. That's why I laugh at all the whining about the poor officiating. All the whining in the world will do nothing to solve the problem. There is no pressure on Goodell because the only pressure he feels would be if he financials were being hit. But they aren't.

I dunno, I think Goddell and the NFL are going to start feeling some real pressure/backlash from Coaches, players, fans, and the media, and they can't just ignore it. This is like a national disgrace and everybody sees it all too clearly now.

And who knows, some of the revenue flowing in might start to decrease just a little bit. (any decrease in viewership, as well as merchandising, ticket, and concession revenues, however small, should cause some concern with the owners if they are smart and try to anticipate unpredictable events. I know that none of my hard-earned bucks are going anywhere near the NFL right now.

The NFL may be growing their fanbase demographic-wise, but it's still the hardcore, long-term fans that are their bread and butter.

I think both teams got away with alot tonight. There were some calls against the ravens that I thought were ticky tack, and then there was plenty of stuff that didnt get called. Bottom line, they had chances to seal the game, and didnt. Would they have won if the real refs were there, and called a better game? No one can predict that. It would be nothing more than assumptions. Maybe Devin should hold on to the ball next time. I could sit here, and list plenty of missed opportunities.

The phantom pass interference call against McCourty in the final moments of the game was absolutely horrific, and even though I dont want to believe it, it reeked of a home town call under duress.

I could go on a 5000 word rant right now, even after trying to calm down over the past few hours. But I will not, and all I will say is....

....I am vexed about these refs.

Why do people keep saying this? It's not as black and white as both teams got bad calls. First there's the timing of the calls, then the impact of the calls, then the missed calls. The Patriots got screwed. Every scoring drive by the Ravens was made possible because of a horrible call. Can you say that about the Patriots? No. Tom Brady made passes to move the chains, the refs threw flags to move the chains for the Ravens.

Re: SuperBowl 47: JAGS Vs RAMS

I love my Patriots but I'll be damned if I have a dependency on the NFL. My Sundays are about to get a whole lot more productive.

I missed most of last week's game. What did the refs screw up?

Re: SuperBowl 47: JAGS Vs RAMS

Football is not a game about perfection. If it was both teams would deserve to lose every game. The winner of an NFL game is not the team that lived up more closely to their fan's impossible expectations. It is the series of events that determine the final score, atleast it was the last I checked, that gives us the winner.

The more external factors influence this series of events, the less credibility the final score has. This goes both ways. Devin McCourty gets away with a pass interference against the Titans negating a first and goal on the 1, which most likely results in 7 points for the Titans, who settled for a field goal in this case. If the Titans get their deserved penalty and score, build some momentum, is the outcome the same? Who knows.

There is a certain amount of expected human error that is unavoidable and thus accepted for refereeing NFL games. The real officials did make mistakes too, calling tick-tack holding calls, questionable spots, but rarely were there process errors and games turning into brawls. Do you really have confidence in the outcome of this game? Furthermore, do you really have confidence in any of the leagues standings?

For me? No.
