its going to be a long summer

12 days left to trade Salty ... please make it happen.
We finally have some brains behind the plate ... get a vet backup and we're good.

Team era was almost a run higher per game when Salty was in vs Shoppach.

I thought they should have traded him at the deadline, go with Lavarnway and get a veteran thats good defensively to pair him with, Im not inside the clubhouse but whoevers a whining cry baby get rid of them, get a manager the players respect, one more good pitcher and myabe we have something to look forward to next year.

Gonzalez on waivers. I wouldn't be against trading him if we could get a great package, we need to free up as much money as possible to fix this mess.

• The funeral for Red Sox legend Johnny Pesky was held in Swampscott. The 92-year-old passed away last week. The private ceremony was attended by a large number of representatives from the organization including Cherington, John Henry, Larry Lucchino, Bobby Valentine, and many of the players.

...and don't believe the spin put forth by Lucchino.
The players in attendance at the Swampscott funeral on Monday were David Ortiz, Clay Buchholz, Vicente Padilla, and Jarrod Saltalamacchia, according to a report.
Look, I have bashed Lucchino with every post, but what he says here is very eloquent. I don't think this was the time to call out the players. Read:
"There was a tremendous turnout at the Johnny Pesky's funeral," Lucchino told listeners on WEEI's Dennis & Callahan show. "We had over a 100 people there in terms of ownership, front office, current players, staff, former players. It was a very impressive turnout. I think the people who knew Johnny best had came to it. Our players will have had a chance on Tuesday night to participate in a ceremony on the field -- they all willingly and enthusiastically participated on that date -- and then there's going to be another memorial service. So I think it's unnecessary to focus on that issue."

Ok, now, I hate the spin, but it would have been disrespectful to Johnny's memory to call out the players at that time. I would wager they are keeping score on Yawkey Way. I would at least hope so. However, It's time for the fanbase to make a stand. STOP GOING TO FENWAY! STOP WATCHING THE GAMES ON TV! The only way to make ourselves heard is in our silence. Then the Power Triumvirate has no choice but to act. It's all about the Benjamins, guys. You don't like 'em, make 'em hurt.

He's been a huge disappointment this season.

even as a Salary dump. I'd get rid of gonzalez.

not a popular opinion I bet.

This organisation needs to go in a new direction and to do that needs to free up lots of dollars.

I hope people aren't expecting 2013 to be any different. It will be 2014-15 before we can become a force again. By that time many of our prospect studs will be ready.

i was so happy to see that disgusting team lose that game last night. put a smile on my face. i hope they lose every game they play the rest of the year.

I want a high draft pick, keep losing.
