In a report on the case, Boston police said Edelman was inside the nightclub on Halloween night when he allegedly reached underneath the woman’s costume and groped her below the waist.

If it's true, I'd cut him asap.

I really don't like rooting for guys that treat women like this. If this is true, I hope he's on the street, soon. It's unfortunate - I very much liked this kid and looked forward to rooting for him as Welker2.0 for years to come, but his performance has dipped, and if these allegations are true, he doesn't belong anyway.

I’d like more information on the situation before forming a judgment. I do know that if you’re in a crowded bar it’s almost impossible to move from point A to point B without making a bunch of body contact with people, women included.

But if what they say happened is true he reached underneath her costume and grouped her below her waist. That would have nothing to do with being in a crowded bar

but it could have plenty to do with what happened for the relevant period of time beforehand......

it doesn't look good, but reserve judgement until the facts are out......

If this is as it's described, another life lesson, but too late for Edelperson. Wonder if it's likely that he had had quite a few drinks? Drinking lowers inhibitions and in a party atmosphere, really bad judgement can occur quickly before the rational side takes over.

Sometimes if it's dark and if is really crowded, you need to feel your way around to make your way toward the exit.

I hear the victim and her witness (most likely her boyfriend) were thrown out of the club, then they called police who then arrested Eldelman based on what the witness said. Elderman denied the charges but was still arrested.
So basically this is going to become a he said, she and he said.

Hopefully this isn't the end of him on the Pats because he's got some potential down the road when Welker is gone IMO.

Edelman had a decent year his first year. Since then he has not been a factor in any part of the game except punt returns and now that he's injured, not even there. The guy should be cut on those grounds, not on grounds of being arrested. He has been convicted of nothing so far and he may never be convicted. Reserve judgement on the assault charge until there's something to really go on.

Lastly, at this point in time, Edelman is no substitute for Wes Welker and IMO, he never will be.

Cut him for this? Ok I have a daughter and I'm very protective of her. But here is the thing.

1:30 AM on a Monday night. Everyone is probably 3 sheets to the wind by then, maybe including the young lady. He does someting stupid. She calls the cops and he gets arrested. So, now every thing is proceeding perhaps as it should.

Now there is a bunch of people on a message board calling for him to LOSE HIS JOB. Unless she was an employee of the Patriots and at a Patriots function, calling for him to LOSE HIS JOB is a little over the top don't you thing?

Let's have the same thing happen to you, you are drunk at a party at 1:30 AM and do something stupid like that,and get arrested. Do you think you should LOSE YOUR JOB, your livlihood, becasue of that? Get a grip!

Times do change. In the old days if you did somethng like that the woman woud slap you in the face and a couple of guys would take you out and kick your ass and it would be over. Now the polcie are call and people get arrested. Not saying one way is the right way.

Brian R. Ballou and John R. Ellemen of the Boston Globe have uncovered more details about why the team’s reserve receiver was arrested for indecent assault after an incident in a Boston nightclub.

Edelman is accused in the police report of groping a woman below the waist. A man who was with the woman said Edelman bumped into the woman on the dance floor.

“He saw the victim’s face change into an expression of shock,’’ police said in the report.


anything is possible in this situation........maybe he did grope her........maybe the contact was accidental/incidental and she needlessly flipped out.......

either way, I doubt there's a smoking gun anywhere.......
