Anyone nervous about the Giants next week?

I would say that just about anyone could beat the Pats I saw yesterday. However, other than GB, I believe every team can be beat to this point.

NO got killed by STL
Jags beat Ravens

Everyone has bad games, but this weeks game will tell us if the Pats can compete and make adjustments or not.

The New England Patriots defense can make Eli Manning look like Peyton Manning.

...They are so sharp after the bye and weren't today at all. ...

I saw a bunch of DB's waiting for the play to unfold before reacting yesterday against the Stillers.....
I'm thinking that will change...
It has to...

We struggled against a Jets team that were playing horrible when we played them and were a Cowboys first down from losing, a Cowboys team that is getting hammered by a team coming off the bye, just like we were.

No excuses. This team needs to start playing like they give a damn, or we won't even make the playoffs. Because we have a hungry Giants up next and then play the Jets at home.
Do you really believe that they dont give a damn?

The Patriots should beat the Giants next week, because the Giants aren't really designed in such a way that they should be able to force the Patriots into the kind of defense they tried yesterday. As long as the O-line can keep Brady somewhat clean, the Patriots should win.

Unfortunately, that means that the homers will come out and start insisting that all is well, the ship's been fixed, and the Super Bowl is a fait accompli.
Right because the last thing we would ever want is a fan base that is optimistic about a 6 and 2 team coming off a 14 and 2 season.
Perhaps you should root for a loss.

serious question andy, do you consider last season a success?

How quickly we abandon what has been so good to us for a decade. Silly really.

As a Patriot fan you should be nervous about EVERY team they play. Without Brady, this would be a bottom feeder.

Plain and simple. This defense is ATROCIOUS.

excited is a better word

11-5 in '08 isn't bottom feeder. That was one win away from making the playoffs which is downright crazy as the Chargers made the playoffs at 8-8 IIRC.

This isnt '08. Hope that helps.

I'm nervous.

I think they'll bounce back and play better (they usually do after a loss) but the Giants have a lot of weapons on offense and the Pats secondary is so bad that it would make even the worst offense look halfway decent.

Bradshaw
Nicks
Manningham

...and the emergence of Cruz (UMASS!) make for a pretty scary match up vs. our secondary.

All I can say is that if you have Eli, Victor Cruz or Hakeem Nicks in fantasy, I'd start them.

luckily nicks is out as of right now. (meaning most don't expect him to play, nothing official)

I'm not nervous. Despite our complete lack of pass rush for years, we win more than we lose. It may not bode well for the playoffs, but for regular season games we do fine, even with a lack of personnel on the defensive side of the ball.

Its so sad but I will be starting Manningham & Bradshaw this sunday ;)

Just keep Brady clean and we shouldn't have problems against the Giants....

Worried but not in panicking yet

If we can't cover the receivers, atleast pressure the QB and force bad throws.... :)
