I'm also with you on a Charger vs Saints SB.If not the Pats,I'm rolling with the Chargers all the way.The Saints are 1 of the best Cinderella stories in NFL history.Drew vs Rivers = anticipated SB.

On one hand, if we prove good enough to go to the SuperBowl, as a Brees Fan I would love for the Bolts to play the Saints. However, the world would view the Bolts as the villainous step-sisters trying to beat up on goody two shoes Cinderella.

So on the other hand, given the opportunity, I would prefer to play the Cowboys so we could send a final Bolt summarily ending their lingering image as America's Team much to the delight of many.:)

csfoster,

It appears fate is working such that the Patriots and Bolts will play their divisional round at Qualcomm. These are the two best clubs in the league and aside of some ersatz stats that indicate Dallas is the third club that has an Offense and Defense in the top ten of the league, we two are the real contenders and not an NFC pretender compiling ersatz stats against other minor leaguers.

I personally feel that will be the REAL SUPERBOWL match up.
The winner ought to be able to go on and cruse through the rest of the games before taking the Lombardi.

When all the dust clears I look forward to the game.

The way Cincy is playing recently, it would be in both our team's best interest if they somehow got waylaid on the way to the wildcard.

All of a sudden, I am a great fan of Indy and Denver.;)

Given Marty's fake punt call resulting in a first down in the first quarter tonight which led to LT setting the all-time season scoring record, if you did not believe me before perhaps you believe me now.....MartyBall is Dead!:D

Tonight also showed all NFL fans that our secondary is not as weak as many really really want to believe.;)

With that said, Congratulations on your beat down on Houston today. That whole front office needs to be fired for not taking Vince Young or Reggie Bush in the draft.

Looking forward to seeing guys in San Diego.:)

Dear Pats Fans,

It has been awhile since I last posted here and I just wanted to congratulate you and your team for the great season you guys are having despite the many adversities you all have gone through.

I like many was an unbeliever at the beginning of the season but it must be said that you guys have overcome all and have no doubt rekindled Indy's fear of the Pats along the way.

We in San Diego, as you already know, do not fear you and we would welcome an opportunity to play your team in the play-offs whether in your place or ours.:)

Until Then Good Luck!:eat3:

Greetings From San Diego!

Caryl

PS: I am sorry to hear of Juniors' injury and I wish him well.

thks and compliments for the very good season the Bolts are having

it would be imho ok if the AFC Championship will be between Pats and Chargers

again, compliments for the good season and greeting from Italy

I must give you guys credit for the most part for not crying too much about Rivers being selected over Brady for this year's Pro-Bowl. And if there is blame to be placed for this unexpected development, put it on the players and coaches and accept the fact that Brady did not play as well as he has in the past (not necessarily his fault), and understand the fact that Rivers played much better than anyone expected for a first-time starter leading his team to their best season finish ever.

And also take consolation in the fact that Brady and the rest of your team will focus their anger and no doubt be out to prove to the rest of the NFL during the play-offs that they do not appreciate being overlooked to the extent they have been.

This is not to say that such anger will prove to be of any lasting benefit. For when Brady and your team visit our Bolts in San Diego, it will only be to leave having lost to the better team.

PS: FYI, Colts Fans seem to be more upset that Brady was not selected than you guys are.:)

What's up with you guys being underdogs this week against Jacksonville?

As it is, We in San Diego will be watching this game Sunday morning and fully expect your team to put an end to Jacksonville's play-off hopes, win your division, secure the 4th seed in the play-offs, and start making preparations to come visit us in the second round after taking care of business in the first round:)

Good Luck Sunday!

Congratulations on finally securing the division title and a play-off berth but the pertinent question is what do you guys or more importantly Bill B. wish for:;)

Personally, I believe you guys will stay the course on the way to San Diego.

Belichick will weigh options for Week 17

New England is among the league's hotter clubs, with five wins in its last six games, including yesterday's 24-21 defeat of host Jacksonville, which had been a giant-killer at home.

With one game remaining in the regular season, coach Bill Belichick has an interesting decision to make entering Sunday's finale at Tennessee: With no chance of a first-round bye in the postseason, should he play for a victory now or play to position his club for an advantageous playoff matchup later?

Currently, New England and Indianapolis are tied at 11-4, but the Colts own the postseason tiebreaker based on their 27-20 defeat of the Patriots on Nov. 5. So, if the clubs finish with identical records, Indy would open the AFC playoffs as the third seed, New England as the fourth seed.

The Chargers almost assuredly will be the top seed, because anything less would require a loss to woeful Arizona on Sunday, and that's not likely to happen. Like everyone else, Belichick is likely studying all the scenarios, trying to figure out which matchup would be better for his Patriots in the second round: playing at San Diego or at Baltimore.

We could learn his answer Sunday. If Belichick sits many of his regulars and loses at Tennessee, it could be interpreted as him wanting the fourth seed and a shot at San Diego. If he plays most of his regulars, wins and claims the third seed – a real possibility considering Indianapolis has lost three of four and closes against Miami – it could be an indication that he feels the Ravens are the more beatable opponent for his Patriots.

New England is 3-0 all-time against Baltimore with each win by an average of 15 points. Conversely, the Patriots have lost their last two games against the Chargers, including a 41-17 whipping last year in Foxboro.

BB will play all out to win the game and defer the decision of "resting" players to the Colts.
The way the Colts are playing right now (defense) they need to play hard as well.

I think both teams play hard and let the seedings take care of themselves.

Note: Just because both teams play hard - that does not assure that they both win their games.

No matter what, I look forward to seeing San Diego in San Diego, of course, should we face Baltimore in the Divisional round, S.D. may not get by Indy (or the WC team that beats Indy). That would mean AFC Championship right here in FOXBORO!! Now, if you made it this far - you found out why BB plays all out next week.

Regardless of who you guys play in the first round, I expect you to win and I am sorry to say that regardless of who you guys play in the second round, you can expect to lose.:D

Hey Bud I hate to say it.. given Shotty's pitiful playoff record..YOU should not expect to get far..

Well thanks for the congrats and same to you. Great job by SD this year.

Of course i could bring up the fact that your Strength of schedule ended up being a lowly .467 versus our lofty .502, further, your strength of victory at.436 pales in comparison to our .472.

Then of course there are playoff records of your great Chargers all time at 7-12 versus the Patriots all time 17-11, not to mention Brady's 10-1.

Furthermore, if you think we won't be able to touch a #1 or #2, go back and tell me how many #1's actually go all the way. Other than my New England Patriots, in 2003, you have to go back to the Rams in 1999 to find another #1.

Finally, did I mention coaching, Marty??

Right, your chances are looking real solid....see you soon.

A nice comeback based on historical facts which unfortunately has no relevance to the present facts other than perhaps that before joining the Patriots as head coach, Bill B. had coached his team to a 36-44 record over a 5 year period with his team making the play-offs once going 1-1.

Bill B. subsequently with the Patriots has, up until this year, had the benefit of great talent across the board and has quite successfully made the most of it.

And that in the final analysis is the problem, given that the present fact is this year Bill B. does not have great talent across the board and thus despite your lofty SOS and SOV, as a direct consequence when he and the Patriots come up against the Bolts, who do have great talent across the board, the Patriots will lose come Marty or no Marty. :)

Solid is as Solid Does and this year your team is not and ours is.

That 1-1 playoff record at Cleveland is better than Marty usually does.

Your statement about the Pats having "great talent" is, IDK, stupid. The Patriots have never had great talent at any position other than QB, and I'm a diehard Pats fan. They have a lot of really good talent, maybe more than just one great player, but not enough to say that they had great talent across the board. BB won 3 SBs with castoffs and vagabonds, players that had been given up on by their original clubs. There's very little greatness in that statement.

Great talent does not win championships. Coaching and play when it matters most does, and the Pats have proven that they are the best in the league in those two areas.

I'm not afraid of your Chargers. Nothing besides Merriman and LT bothers me, and BB can take away what your team does best (run it). I'll take a match-up against a QB who has had two good passes in as many games.

Solid is as Solid Does and this year your team is not and ours is.
Well we'll see. The scoring numbers say our defense is a lot better than yours. And we can stop the run so we'll, at least, slow Tomlinson down.

Your "rookie" (I know, he's not a rookie, STFU) is up against Tommy . . .

I'd LOVE to see the Chargers try to win a Super Bowl with Rivers at the helm, he has been exploited the past 4-5 weeks and will continue to be, If the Chargers wanted to win it all they should of stuck with Brees. BTW Steroid boy still playing Linebacker for you?

I can stay in present day with present players and coaches.......

1) I think SOS & SOV is this year and is relevant. We played a tougher schedule and fared better, all things considered - especially injuries, look again, we are going to be as healthy as we have been all year as we kick off our next Superbowl run.

2) I also think comparing our coach to your coach - this year, this decade or throughout their careers is important. Advantage Patriots

3) You have a great running back - we have three very good ones.

4) You have a great tight end - we have three very good ones.

5) I'll take our defense over yours, hands down.

However - the bottom line in this entire discussion can be summed up in two words: TOM BRADY

The man will not be denied this year.
