Garay fined 15k for Brady hit

So you believe that there was a conspiracy by the Chargers to injure Brady. Ok, right. Seems to me if that was the case why wait, why not do it on the first series? Grassy knoll anyone?

Some players are just downright vicious and don't care and when they see an opportunity, they take it.

Was it just a freak play?....I think NE fans wonder about that...we still question Pollard although Pollard did have a little obstruction from Morris and ended up at Brady's knee

Are there cheap shot artists in the NFL?.....Watch old films of Kevin Mawai for example, the king of them, there are always some around.

How much did they fine the ref?

Thanks for the video Deus. Just confirms what most of thought watching it live. He dived at the knee completely of his own accord. Wasn't pushed into Brady. Just went for the knee. Shocking play by Garay.

Here we go, this is the sequence you were looking for. Thanks Deus

My pleasure...

From the preseason and now regular season it really seems like the refs are worse so far than at any other time I've watched the sport. I'm not just talking about our games either. I've watched many other games and the officiating has been horrible in each one of them.
I doubt they're any worse now than they were 20 years ago. The difference is that unlike 20 years ago, these days when a ref makes a bad call it gets discussed endlessly in forum such as this one, on talk radio, ESPN, Around the Horn, Pardon the Interruption, Jim Rome, Mike & Mike, Cold Pizza, The Sports Reporters, that other show, NFL Primetime, NFL Today, Dan LeBatad's Show, all those shows Skip Bayless appears on, the Globe, Herald, USAToday, ProFootballTalk etc, etc.

So in nfl salarys vs. the real world, thats like any of us getting fined the cost of a D&D large coffee. That'll teach him!
Actually, proportionally speaking, it would be the equivalent of someone making $50,000 being fined $1,000. So it's a bit more than a cup of coffee.

He shouldn't have even been fined. IMO if a player is not blocked into the QB on that type of hit He should be ejected automatically with loss of pay for that game.
Then upon further review If it's clear the player lunged at the QB s knees with no other explanation as to why their shoulder pads are squarely driving into the QB s knee, they are ejected from the league for the season without pay.
No way in hell should a 400 thousand doller a year nobody lineman be in a position to try making a name for himself by ending the career of one of the leagues most promanent players.
There're enough injuries in this game without having freakin kamakasi lineman fodder. 15K??? Bull.

Yeah, but had he succeeded he woulda made a fortune of the "I shot Jesse James" type tee shirts.

Re: Garay Fined $15,000 for Lunge at Patriots QB Brady's Knee

What ! ?? 15000 for a dirty hit . Should be 50,000 plus a suspension . He was lunging low with only one intention. Looks like i am always going to say a prayer for Tommy because i am worried with the way he is playing out of this World.

Hi,Pao!!! ....Pao?????....HELLO??????....Pao, are you out there????

WHERE ARE YOU NOW,PAO????????

Re: Garay Fined $15,000 for Lunge at Patriots QB Brady's Knee

I think there is a real problem when players get fined for in action in a game but weren't flagged in the game. This is not saying I disagree with the fine -- I don't -- but it doesn't make sense how a guy that was pivotal in the play is fined for something he wasn't flagged for. This is different if a guy was on the periphery of a play, like the infamous chop block to Rodney Harrison to close out the 06 season, but this was the focus.

Anyway, why would a guy that makes a few million a year care about $15000? This is like me being fined a few hundred bucks. Yea, it sucks, but it's not going to curb the behavior at less than 1% of his take home.

Re: Garay Fined $15,000 for Lunge at Patriots QB Brady's Knee

Fine is all good but will this make him think twice about doing it again? I think not.....

Re: Garay Fined $15,000 for Lunge at Patriots QB Brady's Knee

Honestly, 15 thousand for potentially ending a marquis quarterback's career is hardly adequate.

The league should consider more severe penalties, such as suspensions, or executions.

Re: Garay Fined $15,000 for Lunge at Patriots QB Brady's Knee

I vote for a public execution.

Re: Garay Fined $15,000 for Lunge at Patriots QB Brady's Knee

Stick another zero on the end of it and maybe it would suffice.

The first time it happens a fine should be levied.....the second time a team player gets flagged....forfeit of a draft pick .......the coaches will get the message...

You're right. Pedo, PEDO, PEDO where are you PEDO?????????????

If anybody has to deal with fans of other teams complaining about Brady getting all the calls, remind them that there wasn't even a flag on the play. Also, that's not the Tom Brady rule in action. It's the Carson Palmer rule. The Tom Brady rule only applies to a defender who is on the ground and then dives or lunges into the QB's legs.

The fine should have been bigger...and they should have doubled it for the Ref, who is supposed to be back there to protect the Quarterback.

SD players were tackling low throughout the game. Dirty bastids.
