The Dowling family crest:

Yes, Isle of Man. You are so on my good list if you knew that. Little Celtic trivia.

Actually, that's the Manx flag, but the Dowling crest is pretty impressive.

You seriously expect anyone outside the Patriots inner circle to have any idea on the extent on his injury.

This is Belichick we are talking about.

We'll know when he makes it back onto the practice field or gets IR'ed.

The old saw, as applied to the Patriots: "No news is...no news."

OK, Crazy theory that violates causality and the time space continuum and stuff, BUT I WOULD NOT PUT IT PAST BELICHICK.

At 6'2" Ras-i is taller than most CBs. Plaxico Burress's big thing is his height. Belichick prepared for the Jets getting a goal line tall threat by drafting a tall corner BEFORE THE JETS SIGNED PLAXICO.

Belichick is so good he bends time.:) OK, he is so good he saw Plaxico was available, knew that with rust he'd only be a tall target in the red "area", and predicted the Jets would take him.

Either that or Belichick has a time machine and is about to have won XL, XLI, XLII, XLIII, and XLIV. XXXVII is too far gone.

OK, I'll return to sanity now.

This guy better not be a bust already...Brace, Butler and now this guy?? BB has picked some REAL DOOZIES let me tell you. What is up with the 2nd round busts? Gronk and Chung notwithstanding, it's unusual to pick just utter busts....

Butler has athletic ability...isn't smart enough to look for the ball and doesn't like to tackle = BUST.

Another gem by SanAngeloState. Way to cry like a baby as you usually do.

Oh, and your signature...that was ME who said that. AS A JOKE. Are you so dumb you can't even tell sarcasm when I start a post with "WILDLY RIDICULOUS SPECULATION"? Please do PatsFans a favor and have your mommy cancel your internet service.

He's hurt, skippy.....What is the name of the "stud" pass rushing OLB that we should have drafted instead of Dowling?.....Was he "stolen" by the Saints when they traded for our 2nd first-rounder?......By the stud-hungry, OLB-needy, NJ Jets*?.......Is he:"The Man With No Name?"

Bodden, McCourty, Arrington, Chung, Meriweather....yup, there sure is an immediate need for the services of one, Ras-I-Dowling!

Relax....kick back....pop in "3 Games To Glory" on your old dvd player...get out of that hot, hot south carolina sun...This team is stocked; just enjoy the ride, brother.:rocker:

I was being sarcastic. I've learned to leave the personnel decisions to BB. If the board had it's way we would have a team full of Vernon Gholstons....

No, you weren't joking, you mocked me repeatedly for saying it wouldn't happen...I'm not goign to dig the thread up. speculation doesn't mean it's a joke, it means it's a thought and then you insisted upon it when i and others tended to think it wouldn't happen.

Anyway, jury is out on brace, although I don't know how he fits into a 4-3 if the are moving toward it.

And your post is insulting and derogatory toward a member, me, and I think that is not allowed.

Butler is a bust, I fear...as he doesn't like to tackle and that is bad bad bad if you play defense.

I hope this RasI is OK and works out, really do, but think it's a shame if he doesn't and it's apparent already.

...nor is calling out another board member in your sig. How about we all start playing nice, ok? And maybe talking about that 3-legged marvel, Ras-I Dowling?

So apparently Ras-I practiced yesterday, according to the Globe, by notice of omission from this list:

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth missed his second straight practice yesterday. He was not spotted on the field as the team practiced in full pads, and no reason has been given for his absence . . . Other players who were out included defensive lineman Mike Wright, linebacker Brandon Spikes, offensive lineman Ryan Wendell, running backs Shane Vereen and Eric Kettani, safety Ross Ventrone, and cornerback Thad Turner

Is Manx still spoken now? I thought I read that it is no longer in use, and therefore considered a "dead" language. (same w/ Cornish?)

So i am on twitter and see that there are reports that it's a hamstring...as well as spikes has an injured ankle...here come the injuries

Honestly some people are blind.

Why when your making this starting analysis of our 2nd round and how horrible we have been do you gloss over our Gronk, Cunningham, Spikes, Chung and Vollmer.

Thats 5 starters out of 7 picks and your saying we can't draft in the 2nd round. That is rediculous.... BTW 2 of which are arguable pro bowlers in Gronk and Vollmer. Your post = BUST

tbh, the jury is still out on Cunningham. BB's 2nd round has been much better in the past few years but before that there were quite a few misses over the past five years.

I assumed Spikes' injury was related to that little "scare" that mysteriously disappeared off of twitter a while back, where he hurt himself playing basketball

dude I created this and forgot about it. how the hell did this get to 14 pages? bickering?

Since apparently he has a bad hammy there's no real need for concern. At least he didn't get a disaster like Amukamara.

Sorry but a hammy is defiantly cause for concern. Hammys linger for the entire season if not longer. Look at stallworth...always had hamstring issues..once he hurt it...it took 10-12 weeks until he was 100%

I think it varies, wouldn't he get put on IR if it was serious? The fact that there's a lack of news regarding his injury would make me assume that it's not worth reporting. Wouldn't BB address it one of his conferences? His hammy could be minor, when I played football and pulled mine, I felt like there was a storage of pus in the muscle for like 5-6 weeks. I'd assume his isn't serious like that.

But is speculation that it might possibly have something to do with a leg muscle cause for concern?

As a rookie he was a starter basically all of last year at OLB when he played DE in college. Even if he gets no better than he currently is he still contributed and is a starter in this defense... therefore not a bust.

Ras I Dowling?

So, like, is this guy even practicing?

Re: Ras I Dowling?

I don't know who that guy is, him and Shane Vareen....who are these people?
