Tebow's plummeting stock

I dislike him because hasn't earned his bones in pro football - and yet never saw a microphone he didn't like. (Please be quiet - edited) kid.

I also found him annoying when he presumed to give his "testimony". I don't need it, and don't want it. My experience with people that are too good to be true is that they are indeed not true. They are as full of vices that beset others, they just think they are special due to the 3rd grade faith they spout.

Most people who are "too good to be true" are far better than those who aren't. However, when you put demands of perfection upon human beings, they are bound to fail. That's when the scumbags who can't be bothered to live decent lives pounce.

It's very rarely the truly good people who get upset about other good people getting noticed. It's almost always the sort of people who know that they aren't good, and they feel the need to cut down others in order to make themselves feel a little better about their own transgressions.

Ah, now I see why you like Tebow. You're just like his kind, another "better than thou ..."

We don't like him because he's not a good football player, and has been hyped as a superstar. I don't like him for the same reason I don't like Reggie Bush.

There are a lot of people in the NFL that aren't "good football players." Do you hate them with as much venom as you do Tebow? Probably not.

I don't think I am better than people - well, maybe you and Bagwell, but generally speaking, nope.

Agreed, McDaniels has been awful at judging talent and personnel decisions.

he traded away Peyton Hillis for Brady Quinn. nuff said

imagine if the Patriots got Hillis last season?

He's all back story. His place in the pros is as a short and goal change of pace back - at best.

He looked OK on the surface last year, but when the pressure came, all the learned throwing motion, and the progressions went down the drain - and he looked like what he is. Totally over his head as a starting QB in the NFL. This man will get at most 35 starts in the NFL in his career.

Didn't you guys figure out when BB came out in public to meet him pre draft it was to deke someone into drafting him? Wasn't it two days in a row? BB would never "blow" a guy he was interested in. I don't think BB would have drafted the guy with a 7th if he was sitting there.

He's trash and I couldn't care less about his beliefs or his story. If he can't play, he's dead to me.

give him time - i watched the games he played in- i didnt see anything wrong with the way he played- realizingf he was a ROOKIE with his first start ever in pro footbaLL- Get real and go read the Bible and ask for forgivness

1 - Just because someone "fails" in one place doesnt mean they can't succeed in another. Vrabel is a perfect example of this.

Vrabel was stuck down the rotation in what has always been a very talented LBer corps in Pittsburgh - I don't think that translates accurately to Tebows situation in Denver.

With all the negative stuff being writteen about Tebows inability to master and NFL offense he feels like a huge bust.

Why do you assume that's his religion?

You'll notice I used quotes around "fails" for a reason, the situation doesnt have to be equivilent, it's a concept, Vrabel had little value relative to the others and the team decided to move forward without him.

No interest in Tebow here. There is no reason the Pats should have any interest in this guy given what he's shown in Denvah so fah.

WHat do you expect?

Signs pointing against Tim Tebow - AFC West Blog - ESPN

This is very odd considering Denver was looking to trade Kyle Orton very recently, but if Tebow doesnt see much playing time this season I wonder if we could get him for a rather low price. Next season Hoyer might be gone, if so it makes sense to have a 3rd, developmental QB waiting in the wings. There's no place better to learn to play QB than in New England, Tebow can be a potential heir or more likely trade bait to a QB hungry team down the road.

Go Kyle Orton!

I don't see the need for a full back, although he could make everyone attending better, holier person just by seeing him. (Although would Julian Edelmen be immune to his Christ-like ability? Just askin'.:))

I agree with everything else you said, but not this one. He was elected a captain of his college team after transferring in while still in the midst of a battle for the starting QB job. He was re-elected a captain the next (his final) year.

To be fair, it's a rare starting QB who isn't voted a college captain. I love Mallett's son-of-a-coach football dedication, but I called his leadership skills "questionable" simply because they've been questioned a lot. Like this from the Miami Herald:

The problem with him, I'm told, is not whispers of narcotics use or even a drunken disorderly arrest last year. The question with Mallet, one very good NFL source tells me, is the kid is said to have absolutely zero leadership skills. None.

:confused2:

Not that he's a be-all end-all expert analyst, but for what it's worth Merril Hoge is excoriating Tebow on twitter right now.

Twitter/merrilhoge

"Sitting watching tape off broncos offense from last year! Orton or Tebow? It's embarrassing to think the broncos could win with tebow!!

Orton or tebow? QB play is not just about who works hard gives rare rare college speeches or who is a good guy!! Because orton works hard

And is a good guy as well. It's about who can play!! I just watche Tebow throw 5 out routes to a wide open WR! He was 1 for 5! 2 went in

Dirt 2 in the stands! That throwing motion he changed? U can't change who u r! Just watched 2 throws and he throws like he did in college!!

College credentials do not transfer to NFL raw raw speeches do not work! You must poses a skill set to play! Tebow struggle with accuracy!"

If Tebow truly does struggle with accuracy as much as Hoge struggles with spelling, grammar and punctuation, then his NFL career will be shorter than the last Heisman winning quarterback from U of Florida's was (Danny Weurfel).
What gets me about that whole tirade is how Tebow actually responded to it, via Twitter. First of all, if these things really didn't matter to him, he wouldn't even be aware of them.

It's telling that, when confronted with criticism about his game, he responds by getting upset ("'ppreciate that Merrill") and claiming that "it doesn't matter what anybody else says," rather than taking the criticism in stride and maybe even doing something about it.

If you can't take professional criticism and be constructive with it, your career will only go so far. That goes for every facet of life, not just football. And if Tebow's such a team player, he'll consider moving to another position. He could be a pretty good receiving TE.

But I have a feeling he likes the attention a QB gets, always has, and won't settle for anything "less" because of it. Playing TE might not be "glorious" enough for a guy like Tebow.

Hey, it's only his second year. Maybe he'll prove us all wrong. Sure as hell doesn't sound like it, though.

Absolutely nothing that New England hater Hoge says or tweets holds any merit with me whatsoever.

Eff him, and eff his employer.

If the situation isn't equivalent then why bother to mention it?

I think we all understand the 'concept' of players getting cut from one team and then being signed by another team.

You could just aswell have used the example of JaMarcus Russell being cut by Oakland - the 'concept' is the same, right?

I enjoyed Tebow's response, actually. Merrill Hodge is an idiot.

When did BB ever say this? I heard him say "The QB position is the most important on the field and having depth at that position is a good thing, hopefully we now have depth and we're going to have Ryan compete with the other QBs on our roster". I'd be SHOCKED if BB said he only wanted to wheel and deal Mallett.

Snake this was a report from a media dude and I do not recall which writer it was

To be fair, though, BB already did try to wheel-and-deal back during the draft. There is no way that it would "accidentally" come out that the Patriots were planning to take Ryan Mallett with their pick unless BB was basically saying, "OK, you morons, if you want Mallett, pick up the d*** phone and call me."
