It's easy, and only takes a few moments. Not too many players can get double digit sacks out of a 43 interior position. Tells me he can take on multiple blockers and get to the QB in a tough SEC. A interior pass rush is something we haven't had in a long time and I think this guy could give us that. I'd love to set him loose on the end in a 34 and see what he can do also. I envison him all over the line in various formations and base sets for the Pats. If any of these rumors are true about moving up I think it is for a player with top 3 talent that has taken a fall like Fairley. Pairing him with Wilfork up front makes too much sense imo.
BB Isn't going to move up into the top Ten to draft a WR, thats my draft prediction.
I could see Dareus Miller Quinn Fairly but Not a Wide Out
WTF with this Nick Fairley love ? He's in the top five of players the experts think is most likely to tank once he gets the paycheck. We didn't dump Adalius Thomas to draft a chump like Fairley.
Any WR can be shut down if the Oline doesn't give the QB enough time to throw. If i know that BB surely knows that. With so many needs on the Defensive front seven and the Oline trading up to take any WR is illogicalI've seen elsewhere that it is Dallas at #9 the Pats are looking at trading with and it is indeed WR Julio Jones that they would go and get and only him.
He moved up for Ty Warren, and with the team really in need of a dependable 34DE to match up with Wilfork it does make sense for them to be targeting a player that high. Oh and the whole TBC is our 2nd best OLB might be a problem worth addressing, too.
Oh OK, that makes much more sense. Maybe trade up just a few spots, although i could see him trading up using 17+28 to get Dareus or MillerTwo things:
(1) He moved up one spot for Warren.
(2) The only thing I've seen from Schefter is that the Pats are open to trading up "if the right player is there." Not a ringing endorsement of the "megajump" theory.

We can't all hate Auburn with a burning passion, and aren't these the same "experts" telling us your boy Scam is the best QB and a sure #1 pick? I'll take Fairley and you take Scam and we'll see what the "experts" know.WTF with this Nick Fairley love ? Don't see it. Dareus is the only player I could possibly see them trade way up for and he will go in the top 3 out of their reach. Better to get a solid starter at or around 17 (Ingram, Castonzo, Jordan), then trade 28 and 33, each for a 2011 2 and 2012 2. Then take 5 quality players between, say, 38 and 92. Then we are set up next year with 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Leigh Bodden says HiI would not rule out Peterson because of the position; another shutdown guy opposite McCourty who can cover the big WRs would be a major help. The problem is that it is not 100% clear that Peterson is a shutdown guy.
Von Miller would be a dream pick but I cannot see him dropping far enough. Quinn makes sense or Cam Jordan. We do not know how far he wants to trade up; maybe just a few spots to nab Aldon Smith or JJ Watt (both covered by a Condon though...).
I think that the Cowboys would be good trade partners since I suspect that they want to move down if we could get Jones off the freaking phone... he's like a teenage girl paging through a teen magazine while chatting away... Jones tries to imitate Jimmy Johnson and ends up moving all over the place sometimes for no good reason.
I hate it when Casserly and I agree, I have to go review all my information to see what I missed. :bricks:
I don't hate Auburn, I just hate these two players. As for experts and $cam, most think he will go #1 but many don't have him ranked #1. Mayock had him #14 overall last I saw and Charley Casserly wouldn't take him in the first round (though he acknowledges he'll go very high, likely #1).
I read the tweet, vague is the best way to describe it. Don't get your hopes about moving into the top 10. We have a decade of background about Belichek drafts. The most he ever has traded to move up is a mid 3rd round selection. Ever. Using our first third round pick will bring us up from 17 to about 13, our 28 to about 19, and our 33 to about 21.
This is just the front office doing their diligence, predraft, in case they see someone they like falling. JMO.
Leigh Bodden says Hi
Leigh is good enough to be a starter, there is no room for Peterson unless injury happens to Leigh or Devin
We need a first round pick to start immediately at a position of need...to use CB as a first selection would certainly be surprising, even with the talent Peterson presents
I am thinking the team drafts a SS before corner,Safety is an area of need that does not get much discussion
