Re: Survey says . . .

Ummm....let's see what's changed since then:

1) Deion Branch

2) Danny Woodhead

3) Randy Moss

4) Jim Leonhard

5) Logan Mankins

6) Meadowlands vs. Gillette

7) Warm weather vs. Cold (see; Tomlinson, LaDainian and Sanchez, Mark)

8) 7 Patriot rookies not playing their second game of their careers anymore

9) Patriots have a one week advantage in the freshness department

You want more??????

And let's not forget both Jets cornerbacks flat out said Randy Moss gave no real effort in that game.

Jets have been getting so many breaks this year. I could see it happening.

Really? The Jets and Seattle in the Superbowl. Jets maybe, Seattle never.

Personally, I think a lot of things favor the Pats:

1.) The Pats have been dominant for the last two months other than against the Packers.
2.) Belichick usually develops a better gameplan for a team after he has already played them at least once.
3.) The pressure is more on the Jets. Ryan promised a Super Bowl. The Pats were supposed to be in a transition year. The Jets have a lot of free agents this offseason and built to win this year.
4.) The Jets' CBs do not match up well against the Pats' receivers. We have seen tonight that Cromartie is easily burnt when a receiver runs inside routes. Revis is better at covering inside receivers, but it still isn't his strong suit.
5.) The Jets are vunerable over the middle of the field and the Pats have Gronk and Hernandez.
6.) Sanchez is prone to make mistakes and the Pats have an opportunistic defense that turns over the ball better than any other team.
7.) The Jets can't pressure the QB very well and the only team that has even gotten close to rattling Brady was Green Bay who got a rush up the middle.
8.) The Jets play dumb and undisciplined while the Pats play smart and disciplined. This will definitely affect the penalty battle.
9.) Ryan and his staff don't play good situational football. Hence why they threw it deep on third and 5 with a lead and only 2:36 left on the clock and the Colts only have one time out. A first down would have basically won the game.
10.) The Pats are at home. The Pats don't lose at home very often.
11.) The Jets haven't played 60 full minutes of good football all year. They go at least a quarter or two or more of poor play and then play great for a quarter or two. Against the Pats, they could get in a hole they can't get out of.

The only part I disagree with, really, is point #3. The Pats are the #1 seed and are nine point favorites. The pressure is decidedly on us and not the Jets.

I swear some people in here forget that the Patriots would have to play another team next week if the Jets didn’t win. I’d rather see the Jets than either KC or the Ravens. BB has had trouble against coaches who had worked for him, especially the 1st time they play. Jets are best matchup. Get a lead and put in in Sanchez’s hands in the weather.

We have a better defense than the Colts. You don't think we can score more than 17 points in Foxboro weather?

Are you saying it is a guaranteed win? :D

I don't need more, but playoffs games are always different than regular season games, so for me it's still 50/50 . Strange things happen sometimes :)

Re: Pats v. Jets: Isn't this the matchup we wanted?

Yeah, because he would have helped their offense score more than 3 points.

I didn't say that, but you have to admit losing your 'QB' on defense right before the biggest game of the year for you certainly had an effect on the game.

I think that BB knows that letting the Jets out of Gillette with a win will mean the end of all life on the planet. The will not allow that to happen.

they have won games where no one has given them a chance , like the pitt game and tonite.Thats what worries me.

I'm sure if people knew that Polamalu and Heath Miller weren't playing against the Jets (Polamalu was ruled out the day before and Miller was a gametime scratch), more people would think they would have a better shot. A lot of people gave them a shot tonight. Besides, the Steelers without Polamalu and Miller and the Colts with 9 CBs on IR, their #2 WR on IR, their best TE on IR, etc. is not the same as beating the Pats who are playing dominant football.

No one thought the 300 Spartans would hold off tens of thousands Persians for three days (and the Persians were the most dominant empire of their era). That doesn't mean they could last ten minutes against the the current U.S. armed forces for ten minutes.

Re: Pats v. Jets: Isn't this the matchup we wanted?

I know there are a lot of people here who are upset that the jets won and i understand that given that they are a division rival. however, isn't better not to having to face manning and the colts in the post season - at least down the road? Someone please convince me otherwise. THere is a good chance that baltimore will win tomorrow and if the colts had won obviously we would play the ravens. I think the ravens are better than the jets - given that they have an offense that can move the ball.
I thought before this game that the 2 best matchips we had were the Jets, and the Colts, in Foxboro in January.
After watching this game, I feel even more strongly.
Had the Colts won, there is no guarantee we would have gotten that matchup as 1 of the 2 to get to the SB.
This way we get one of the 2 opponents we should most want here.

That said, there is just something hard to watch about those guys having any success. Although all of tbeir bs will be more than worth it when we are the ones to shut them up.

We havent scored under 20 AT ALL THIS SEASON.

We scored 14 points in week 2.

Jets have it easy this week...they already faced the better QB....:pigsfly:

Sorry, the pressure is on the Jets from day one. Ryan said anything short of a Super Bowl trophy is a failure and guaranteed one for the Jets' fans this year. The pressure should be on the Pats, but Ryan and his mouth has successfully shifted the pressure on his Jets.

Oh, I forgot:

9) NYJ Special teams Coach Jim Westhoff and his lovely Chicago radio interview.

Jets are better at every position IMO but we should destroy them because our QB is the GOAT playing the best football of his career.

If anyone of you honestly think that Belichick & Brady will allow that obnoxious loud mouth to come into Foxboro in the playoffs and get within 20 points of them, then I don't know what you've been watching the past 10 years.

It will never happen. They are going to rip out the Jets jugular and show it to them Roadhouse style.
