It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I know the play was designed for BJGE to go left but didnt look like if he cut to the right he would have made the yard? I watched the replay a couple times and it looked like his chances were much better if he cut quick right.
Don't you just love this coach....never a dull moment.
The guys were lucky to leave SD with a win.
A day like this, you get the W and then sprint for the plane before someone asks for a recount.
a couple things:
1. What was up with Felger trying to bait Curran last night on Sports Sunday? I though Curran handled himself well and it was borderline un-professional by Felger. I know, a little off topic....
2. Belichick elected to go for it on fourth and one, calling a run to the left behind a double tight end set of Alge Crumpler and Aaron Hernandez, with guard Dan Connolly lining up at fullback. Hernandez sealed the end well, but Chargers linebacker Antoine Applewhite slipped the block by Crumpler. Connolly assisted Hernandez on a double team on NT Antonio Garay instead of picking up Applewhite, who made the play on Ben Jarvis Green-Ellis in the backfield.
It was poorly executed, by either Law Firm for the mis-read, Crumpler, or Connolly. If it was executed correctly, Brady takes a knee on first and 10. I think fearlessness has nothing to do with it.
So, we would have gained one yard if Crumpler, Hernandez, Connolly and Green-Ellis all read well and executed well. How likely was that to happen?
Great line by Bob Ryan in the Globe today:
Patriots know to take the ‘W’ and don’t ask why - The Boston Globe
Ryan seems to be writing on the Pats more these days. Hope it's a trend.
The only statistic that I'm interested in is our conversion percentage on fourth down from Week 1 of 2009 all the way up until yesterday. If anybody wants to look that up, then you'll get my opinion on the matter.
