Dude what are you talking about? The probably have the most rookies and 2nd year guys starting and they are 3-1.

Its not just Brady either.

They will be an average team this year. Stop living in the 18-1 generation. You are a homer.

i can live with 18-1 right now.

People knew that the Patriots would get a top 10 draft pick the day Seymour was traded. I mean c'mon, that was a givin, where have you been? Fans of the Patriots should only be rooting for 2 things this season, for the Patriots to at LEAST make the playoffs, and for EVERY team that plays AGAINST the Oakland Raiders. Imagine us having a TOP 5 pick in the draft!

Thats what I'm saying.... With the young team this year its scary that they COULD easily be 4-0 too.

I like this UNDERDOG mentality they are taking on now without moss. Very 2001 like. If they get killed by Baltimore, so what, Im not expecting much anyway. Almost like the Cassel year

With the one of the worst defenses in the league (28th)
and their schedule they might end up with 2 top 10 picks. :(

Pats will go 10-6... Thats only 7-5 here on out

Everyone realies the Pats own the Raiders pick.

Most just don't see any reason to focus on it when there are 12 weeks left in this season. Considering the likelihood of a lockout next year it is ever harder to care too much about the draft right now.

There hasnt been a lockout in Pro sports history that has terminated an ENTIRE season. Yes baseball had the world series cancelled but at least they played some games. I don't see a lockout happening in the time where football is at its greatest public interest ever. Owners will give in easily.

Who cares..we will trade down and with a major lockout next year where lots of games will be missed..i could really care less about the draft.

A lockout will not last long when the players realize (as Lawrence Taylor did) that their extravagant lifestyle have been terminated and the bill collectors come around.

As far as trading down Bill will not do it a dominant DE or CB (yes CB) is available. And I dearly hope that he does not pick a RB that high or (worst case) a WR.

The 2004-05 NHL season says hello.

How could they easily be 4-0? They lost by 2 touchdowns, it's not like it was a fluke or something.

Thanks for crushing my hopes and dreams

I am so excited for next years draft. I don't get why everybody is down on this moss trade. The pats will have a TOP 10 pick this year! just think about that. A playoff team will have a chance at a first year playmaker as well as 7 other picks in the first 4 rounds!...

If they make the playoffs great.. if they don't, get ready for some GOOD football the next 6 years until brady and belichick leave together. I'm excited as you can see.

What does the Seymour/Oakland trade have to do with the release of Randy Moss?
That 1st Rd pick had ZERO to do with Moss.

Bill will trade down... he always does.

We all know this is what will happen. Trade down and pick up another pick the next year.
Pass on that real playmaker we need for Value.

Yeah, I'm starting to think some of these people just became Pats fans recently because they apparently don't know how things work here yet.

My thoughts are that the Team/ownership has counted on a MUCH lower Rookie Cap, making the higher picks more valuable(don't have to pay outrageous $ for some that hasn't even played).
IF that comes to fruition, I expect the Pats to pick at their spot, because it won't cost them 40 Million Guaranteed for a clown that hasn't played a down yet.

My guess.

Matt Light, Kenyatta Jones, Rohan Davey, Ty Warren, Eugene Wilson, Bethel Johnson, Asante Samuel, Matt Cassel, Chad Jackson, Matt Slater, Ron Brace, and Rich Ohrnberger would all like to question that assertion.

Yep, that philosophy of spreading talent throughout the entire roster rather than strictly focusing on the top of the roster given the restraints of the salary cap has really screwed the Pats, with one losing season after another during the Belichick era. I don't know why he doesn't just follow the lead of teams like the Raiders and Redskins, and spend as much money as possible at the top of the roster like they do.

lol because trading up in the 2nd and 3rd is the same as sitting put in the top 10.

We've been the king of hoarding picks forever. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Nothing's a guarantee. That's why getting rid of proven impact guys like Seymour and Moss for draft picks are extremely risky.

we will not trade as abundantly...... we already have dupes for all the important rounds..... I expect the Pats to trade up to the top 10 or top 15. We have the ammunition to do so.:)

I expect us to trade other picks for the following draft. No way we use all in one draft. It aint happening. Bill has stockpiled incredibly and he has put this team in terrific position to wheel and deal.:)
