With a Top 10 pick, and not many glaring holes in the team that don't already have a youngster developing, we can go with....

Contrary to popular belief in this thread, I actually think the Raiders have the potential to rattle off 7 or so wins this year. Gradkowski is a good starter who doesn't put his team in horrible spots like Campbell and Russell do. As bad as he looked last year, DHB is starting to play well and develop a chemistry with gradkowski, Murphy has put together two straight great weeks, and McFadden is living up to his talent. They also have a reliable tight end in miller with Jacoby Ford as a great kick returner they haven't had.
With that said, they're a mentally weak team that could fall apart after the way they just lost that game, but this isn't like the recent Raiders teams that are giant disaster week in and week out. Janikowski makes that kick, and this 7 page thread about how Oakland is one of the 5 worst teams in the NFL turns into a 7 page thread about how unlucky we are to have Oakland's pick the 1 year they're good.
Agree, let's go with Jake Locker or Luck.
Great pick.

I agree they're improved, but not sure where the 6 more wins comes from....
Houston.....probably a loss
SD...loss
SF....god knows. give 'em a win
Denver...say they split w/denver, this one's a loss
Seattle...hell, another win
KC...KC might be somewhat for real...loss
Pitts....duh, loss
Miami....loss
SD...loss
Jax....no feel for Jax, call it a win
Denver...win (but two in a row? hmmm...)
Indy....loss
KC...loss
That gets them to five wins--I could see it being less rather than more.
If I had to predict it I'd go -
vs. Houston - L
vs. San Diego - W (SD is bad enough this year where all road games are a struggle and they always suck out the gate)
@ San Fran - L
@ Denver - L
vs. Seattle - W (eventually Seattle is gonna fall apart)
vs. Kansas City - W/L
@ Pittsburgh - L
vs. Miami - W/L
@ San Diego - L
@ Jacksonville W (Jacksonville is one of the worst teams in the NFL)
vs. Denver - W (Denver, in the 2nd half of the season, 'nuff said)
vs. Indy - W (by this time Indy might be in rest starter mode and Oakland will be motivated to ruin New England's pick)
@ Kansas City - L
So yeah, I think they win one game @ home vs. KC/Mia and lose the other. That would get them 7 wins. Like I said tho, it could be a lot worse. They completely imploded after that tough loss to SD week 1 last year, that could happen again after that loss.

You're dreaming if you think they go 0-4 against Denver and San Diego. As bad as they've been recently, that hasn't happened. Hopefully you're right and they go 12-4, I just find all these top 5 pick predictions somewhat knee jerk when we all know the cynical posters on this site would be up in arms with a thread about how Oakland's pick is gonna suck had Janikowski's kick not flown wide.vs. Houston - L

I think the wins against seattle and jacksonville are 50/50 same with the losses vs kansas and 1 vs sandiago. I am giving them a 4/12 hopefully giving us a top 5

What do you guys think their final record will be? I'm thinking like 4 and 12.
Frankly, on a game by game basis...I see them picking off 1 or 2 home wins against Denver or Kansas City...but that is IT.
Yeah, I'm putting them down for 2-14 or 3-13.
May the Gods Grant It.
Wow.
They won 5 games last year with Jamarcus Russell starting most of the season, these 4 win predictions are ridiculous.
There's no reason to think they'll be even worse than last season now that they have a serviceable QB and actually had a semi-decent draft under Al Davis.
