Felger says he is suspicious of Brady using roids

It's simple. If you make the accusation, you must provide proof. Not the phone number BS - proof. Felger's the biggest asshat in the history of NE media, and that covers some territory. He and his station are desperate, thus the increasingly outrageous BS.

1.) His station's not desperate. The listener exodus has not yet begun. I thought it would have started by now, personally.

2.) He was talking, among other things, about being skeptical regarding players that you wouldn't normally think about with regards to this stuff. It wasn't just Brady that he was talking about. Other names mentioned include Griffey Jr. and Tony Gwynn. Brady's name, naturally, will draw more attention.

I don't like Felger's show, so I usually only listen to it in very limited doses, but WEEI was running an all day radio-thon, and I can only take that for so long, so I'd changed the station. Felger's overall point has merit, because it's really not an insane idea to question the 'clean' level of every football and baseball player from the 90's through the early 2000's, but using Brady as the example isn't going to earn him any points with his audience.

Felger should be suspicious of mah fist using his face

Felger has been especially angry this year. My guess is that "The Wood" is cheating on him...therefore he tries to pick-up Bianca De La Garza to no avail so he settled for the soon-to-be ex wife of Kevin Youkilis - Enza something or other. Unfortuantely he contracted vaginal warts. I just throw that out there since 1) he seems angry. 2) His hair has been looking real good since his early days on the sports scene here in Boston.

If it's true Brady needs a refund cause they worked about as well as Christy Alley's Jenny Craig membership.

Bulked up.

Nice destruction.

Well, he already succeeded at his plan. Here we are, as I'm sure other message boards are, discussing it. People in Mass. are probably all over it, he loves it.

He definitely knew Brady's name would draw attention but it was said in context, sort of; Brady's name was his money shot, the little slime.

I stopped listening to all of it awhile ago but it sounds like he's just getting more and more obnoxious, I'm 110% sure I couldn't bear it now. It's too bad too, there was a time that he'd occasionally make a good point, no team is perfect.

His remarks still weren't cool. Somewhere you have to draw the line and bringing up what sounds like an old crusade of his then throwing Brady's name into the mix crosses that line.

BB needs to freeze them all out:mad:

That's pretty much what I'm saying. He had a viable take on the legitimacy of being a skeptic of that era, and he had a whipping boy already in front of him, given the Clemens development. He didn't need to toss Brady into the discussion.

He's a crap stirrer. That hasn't changed. This year, his standard move seems to be to build things up on purpose, just so that he can shred them. He'll pimp the Red Sox talent so that he can ***** every time someone has a bad game, as if it's uncommon for even good players to have bad years and games. Hell, Babe Ruth is the GOAT in baseball IMO, but even he had a comparative dog of a season (1925). The big one right now is Papelbon, because he's blown 6 saves. Somehow, he seems to have missed that Rivera has had a season with 7 blown saves, as well as a 9 blown save season.

I think he tries to cross the line as part of his schtick. Even his show's intro pimps the notion that it's almost not a good day if you're not pissed off at either him or Massarotti.

On 98.5 right now. Anyone else listening to this?

ETA: he's using the fact that Brady's number was on Greg Andersons phone as the basis for his skepticism.
Who was he on with Borgeus?

Yawn. Isn't there a game tonight?

On the thread about Gil and Geno several guys brought up ex Pats safety Tim Fox as having been a decent commentator in the past. Fox was often a skeptic but he was always rational and knowledgeably defended his various concerns about the Pats. He did it without trying to be sensational and without leaving the viewer with the feeling he hated the org. No comparison between Felger the dweeb and Fox.

Great now I got the "**** Van Dyke" theme song stuck in my head....and have to attribute his rant to the assumption that he's a "****" and him and "The Wood" recently moved to twin beds!

Bingo. I honestly think that's the type of commentary most Pats fans want, even the homers like me. I don't think anyone minds hearing constructive critiques and I'm sure the Felgers of this world occasionally make good points but you nailed it, they give the impression they hate everything Patriots from Kraft on down, including us fans. And we're ALL tired of the sensationalism our media constantly tries to create.

Agree, NO comparison b/w Tim Fox and Felger. I forgot all about Fox actually!

It wasn't one offseason. Between 2000-2002 he bulked up.

Ah but Brady never looked like Lyle Alzedo or Mark McGuire. If he was doing steriods he was not doing much.

Still it seems like wild speculation on Fleger's part which firmly cements his position as DoucheBag #1 ascending above Borges and O'Shanesssy and Callahan.

The whole attitude of the press in this area stinks. A great example is BB's 4-and-2. The press took the obnoxious angle on this and blamed BB. The real controversy is the lousy stinking spot that the Patriots got on the play not BB. The Patriots were robbed by the officials but the Jackals in the press jumped on BB. I also love it that the the douches like Felger are happy to attack Patriots players (except white ones) but refuse to attack other issues such as the playing surface last year.

The press is really obnoxious to the Red Sox also; Pap has a few bad games and he is a bum. Elsberry gets injured; he is a cry baby. They have been trying to run Mike Lowell out of town for years.

The only "reporter" that seems to have it right is the Bar Stool sports guy; he has the right attitude toward Randy Moss and the Patriots.

Yeah, but that is a call that we should actually question. I don't know exactly what they said cos i don't live in the area, but if they questioned the call, so they should.

Felger should know about 'roids. After all, his are so bad he has to brush his teeth every morning with Preparation-H.

Coincidentely, that explains all the #*%@ dripping out of his mouth every time he opens it.

;)

I listen to the guy and i think the context was lost.

A caller called up and asked what about brady when they where talking about roger as his number was in the phone of the trainer.

felger said he as a reporter has asked brady a few times and brady has stuck to his side every time . But he indicated only brady truely knows as this was the 2000-2001 year when brady put on 15 lbs of muscle in one year.

Brady doesn't strike me as the type who would have a total disregard for his future. We have all known guys like Felger, speaking whatever thoughts they have on their mind without any sort of basis. Words often spew from his mouth as if having a mind of their own, and before he even realizes he is saying.
