Re: Several other Jets players are grossly underpaid, as well

what went over AJ's head? that was the POINT he was making..they DIDN'T make all pro

you're pretty mixed up in the head...maybe you need a real exorcism because it would seem YOU are possessed by a moron.

Alternative's post was sarcasm. Obviously they aren't all-pros.

not to hear Rat fan talk about it...there HAD to be at least 100 "Shonn Greene for All Pro!!!!" threads at J.I. last season and as far as "David Harris is the BEST!!!!!"..well you may as well count beach sand grains than threads.

Thread context, Joker.....

Not Reggie Wayne. See Conference Championship. But sure, he deserves a lot of money.

Wayne caught 3 passes for 55 yards in the AFFCG, not sure how you think those are impressive numbers for Reggie Wayne . . .

Yes, Revis is the best in the game. Does that mean he should get a $20M contract?

Contracts take many factors into consideration, such as risk. At the cornerback position, a bad knee injury is pretty much a death blow... all positions require that extra step, but that's more true at corner than anywhere else.

Then, of course, there is the risk that Revis will take his payday and play at 60% of his potential. We've seen this many times (Haynesworth!), and until a guy actually gets paid the big bucks, it's hard to predict what he might do.

Finally, there is the enormous salary-cap eating factor of a contract such as this. The Raiders are trying to trade their stud right now, and no one will take on the dollars... and that's for a guy that's healthy and has maintained an elite level of play even after cashing in.... and playing for such a dismal, unmotivating franchise.

My guess is Revis, if he stays with the Jets, signs somewhere around 12M, and perhaps as high as 15M on the open market.

Revis strikes me as a guy who wants to win not just get paid. The fact is I'm still irked by the fact that we have so many topics about him here.

Actually David Harris was all-pro second team last season.

Re: Several other Jets players are grossly underpaid, as well

When did Shon Greene and David Harris become AllPros?

I'll mention it again since you guys wanna insult him. David Harris was all-pro second team last season.

well goo gee gaa gaa goonie for you ,little bragging Rat peeper..I guess after 41 years of straight heart wrenching, gut punching FAILURES and FUTILITY, 2nd team All Pro calls for an entire Jet Nation celebration, EH?

And one of those catches was NOT against Revis.

I think Garcon caught one pass for like 8 yards against Revis though...

And Wayne did juke Revis out of his shoes on one of those two catches, which was awesome.

BTW, Harris was named to the All Pro 2nd team AFTER a player dropped off due to injury...he wasn't voted in , he was picked to fill in for a fill in...wow, let's all fear the goofy goona Rats now ,eh...what other idiotic fanbase runs from opponent board to opponent board bragging up some mutt who was selected to be a backup after a backup begged out...for all we know,Head Rat, Omissioner Jetdell, probably insisted this crud be duked onto the roster so that the RAT owners would feel mollified for all they've done to advance the career of the worst commissioner in any sports history.

That is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard. You don't dropped off the all-pro team because of an injury. You're confusing the all-pro team team with the pro-bowl team. The pro-bowl is fan voting and and injury replacements. The all-pro team is voted in by members of the associated press at the end of the season and no one is taken off because of injury. You just made yourself look pretty silly.

Can't we all just get along?

Wow, a little sarcasm, trying to stir up a little trouble, and all heck breaks loose.

The only thing serious about anything I've posted here is a meager attempt to stir up resentment and individualism in the Jet's camp. I see that as one of their vulnerabilities, and one of the significant differences between them and the Pats: the quality of the team culture. So let's do anything we can to help emphasize their weakness.

In this case, loyalty to the Pats means praising the Jets players as individuals and pointing out how undervalued they are by the team.

oh...he's 2nd team all pro!!!...unreal...when is the parade?

"Hey Ma, David Harris made 2nd team all pro...I gotta run to a Patriots board and blab, brag, bray, blither and blather about how great that makes my Rats and that makes them way better and gaa gaa goo goo...."

Agreed. Revis deserves the LIFETIME CONTRACT. Add in a 25% ownership share of the team in addition to the 20M per year and then we start getting into a FAIR asking price for Revis' services. :p

Re: We should face the truth here. Revis is by far the best in the game.

Thoughts after scanning this thread:

1. Revis is unquestionably the best CB in football and one of the best defensive players in football. He deserved DPOY last year. He may want 20M a year but he won't get it. He'll probably get around what Aso gets. He'll break the Jets bank for sure but I guess that's what it costs to keep the best player at his position happy.

2. David Harris is really good.

3. Joker is the worst poster I've seen thus far on Patsfans. I absolutely HATE with a passion reading awful made up nicknames for teams - unfortunately this board does it a lot. (Examples include: Dolts, Squeelers, Cowgirls, Cheatriots, Rats, etc.)

You forgot the Jesters. :)

you hate "rats" as a description of the J-E-S-T?

then you admit you admire stool pigeons, informants, back stabbers and outright liars?

great...what other kinds of criminality do you admire

Re: We should face the truth here. Revis is by far the best in the game.

Saying he shut down Moss is almost as crazy as using the word "sanchize"

I remember them games, there were many shots shown of 3, and even 4 guys on Moss..but yea, Revis did it on and "island"

I am a HUGE Randy Moss fan, but as much as it pains me to say it, Revis has been shutting down Moss. I'd like to be in denial about it, but I've come to face that fact.
