You just keep posting stupid stuff again and again. Patten was let go because, by the end of the 2004 season, he was riding the bench behind Givens and Branch.

And yes, He could be worse than Aiken and Stanback.

He's in a wheelchair?

They suck.

Yes, Patten could not be worse than those two bums.

that's like saying you can divide by zero

it just isn't possible

Stephen Hawking could put up better numbers than those two combined

But his YAC would be lower

Man, at this point, it just seems like Bill's pushing buttons.

Our team is quickly deteriorating into a joke. It's gonna get a lot worse before it's gets better. Oh well, Brady will have a nice 2nd career in politics.

I don't know. He had 54 catches for the Saints in 2007. He's three years younger than Joey Galloway. He's a high character guy that Brady has worked with before.

I'm not saying he's going to go out and put up 40 catches this season. Nor am I saying he'll even make the team. But if there's a street wide receiver that you'd pick up right now, he'd be it. Sort of like them picking up TBC in February last year off the 49ers' scrap heap - he went on to have 10 sacks.

Maybe Lance Moore is next.........................:D

I don't get why everyone knocks these sort of signings.

#1. Belichick obviously felt this was enough of low risk potential reward move to sign him.

#2. What do the Pats have to lose? Even in a capped year it's likely a low limited guarantee salary (if any).

Aside from the "I told you so (he wasn't going to make the team)" chortle, why knock such a move? There's no downside, and he might provide some depth in case of injury - or a shadow roster player later if he's still in decent shape.

He obviously had enough of a rapport with Brady to make himself useful as a WR when he was here. You can't say that for every player in the league - let alone every player currently on the Pats.

Why knock the move? Why knock any move in February before free agency starts?

The #1 Constructive Criticsim that everyone has about the 2009 Pats is that they lack leadership and character. Belichick then signs a quality locker room presence and suddenly everyone's more of an expert than our GM/Coach and thinks they know better.

I don't get it.

What I don't get is, why the hell didn't Bill sign him after Cab Galloway was released? We sure could've used somebody - anybody - to take the heat from Moss & Welker then. Now he's a half year older & a half year slower.

I still would've preferred Matt Coke Zero Jones & Dante the Driver Stallworth. But hey, he's automatically better than Slater & Aiken.

As long as Bill understands that this is only the beginning, and not the end, of his search to improve this empty shell of a WR corps, then I have no problem with Patten's signing.

Next stop: Kevin Walter.

If this is a joke, its not funny

If this is real, BB really needs to stop the hire the old guy at value sh!t...its not working

Moss better be the oldest WR on this team opening day.....seriously

Maybe we should see what JR Redmond is doing nowadays as well.....

Well the 10yr reunion is coming up for SB36 Team. Can't wait for BB to sign Troy Brown to replace Welker being on PUP, Antwain Smith at RB to replace Taylor, Ty Law at CB to replace Bodden, Lawyer Milloy at S, Jermaine Wiggins at TE, Roman Phifer at LB, Willie McGinest and Anthony Pleasant at DE for the pass rush we need

Wohoooo.....and we'll be set for 2010

I can't believe we blew our only offseason move on Patten!

Here is one I will get roasted for, but it makes a lot of sense. How about signing Brian Westbrook as our #3 receiver? He is 5'10" and 202. He is bigger than some of our WRs and we know he has great hands and HEART. He only caught 25 last year because of concussions but he caught 54 and 90 the previous two years with 10 TDs. Because he is not an RB his chances of concussions are lessened. His YAC should be spectacular.

He could also be insurance if Faulk gets nicked. He is a very professional player and loves the sport. He may be one of the best receiving backs of all time and we would have the other already. He's only one year older than Stallworth who some would have loved to see here. They split him wide in Philly so this is not a big change for him.

if he even makes it to pre-season i would be shocked. and it would not be a good thing if he makes this team. i would be happer with a un-drafted. WR. over 35 year old patten.

i think we will see a lot more of this this year. from the pats pretty much what they did last year. they will be dumping more big salary like maybe tradeing wilfok, and only signing JAG's i just hope we hit gold on some of dose JAG's like the pats did with bodden. TBC. and Brandon McGowan, and have a draft as good or better then last year.
