You need our approval, don't kid yourself. Well we will think about your case you have stated and get back to you on that

We will consider the case, but its not looking to good.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

Personal info? No, it takes about a minute to sign up.

And this is a Pats board?

Half the topics are about the Colts.

I'm a Colts fan, so I figured I'd comment on the Colts.

You see me in any Pats threads? Let me know.

you should realize alot of these topics are debates about brady/manning on who's the better qb. vinatieri, former pats kicker gets a chance to win his 5th sb. i mean it sounds like you take pride that there are some threads on the colts. i'm sure there has been alot of threads on the pats and other teams/players too on the colts forums too.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

You Pats fans are so damn paranoid. When did I ever say he wasn't a better coach?

The guy asked what did Dungy do without Manning? Quite a bit actually. Dungy established himself as a excellent coach before he coached Manning.

I was pointing out that as a head coach BB hasn't done much without Brady.

Dungy held his own against BB, like I said, I believe they split all time head to head and Dungy beat BB 4 out the last 5 times they met.

Both great coaches, but you have to give the edge to BB. I never said otherwise.

Again, you are on a Pats MB defending your team......so whose paranoid?

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

On topic of the thread...how cand dungy say the game wont be close? The Saints are no push overs.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

'07 TB leads a team to the first ever 16-0:p and to the SB. In the closing minutes TB leads his team to a TD to go up 14-10. The giants then pull a huge horseshoe out their ***** and find a way to win.

'08 TB out for season after 1st game

'09 TB has a solid stat year, but is definitely not up to par(I'll give you that)

'10 TB will be back to true form. Of that I have no doubts.

Brady didn't come up big in that 07 SB. The Pats offense put up what, 40 points on that same Giants team earlier that year? That Pats offense was averaging what, 30 some points a game?

Brady himself scoffed at the idead they would only score 17 points, remember? If not go Youtube it.

Leading one of the best offenses in the history of the league to 14 points in the SB isn't "coming up big". At all. By any definition.

And if you're going to go with the "had the lead when he left the field argument" so did Manning in 2008 against the Chargers. The team had the lead when the O punted, SD tied it, then the Colts never had the ball in OT. You guys still hold the loss against Manning though.

That's always the way it is with you guys.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

I will admit that this year probably defines Manning the most. This is arguably his weakest supporting cast in his career.

To top that, they've drawn a quality opponent in the Super Bowl (the Bears were kind of a joke). It's hard to say how the Colts defense stacks up against the Saints offense, but if everything plays out to the averages it will probably be on Manning's shoulders to keep up with a pretty potent Saints offense.

This could be one of those great carry-the-team-on-your-back games. A good Patriots example would be in 2007 vs the Colts, where Brady and Moss put a monster drive together to reclaim the lead in the 4th quarter. That gave me goosebumps. You'll know it if you see it on Sunday.

It's easy to say that now, but from what I've seen Garcon isn't mediocre and will be a stud in this league for a while combined with the guy whose throwing to him makes him that much better.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

Yeah, I'm on a Pats board talking about my team in a thread about my team.

Sorry to break up the homer fest.

And it is entertaining to see you guys whine and cry about the Colts being in the SB and the attention and praise Manning gets.

It's a cheap thrill, but work is slow right now.

Yeah, that's true. Without your approval I don't know how I'll enjoy this Sunday.

You guys having SB parties?

That was a different Giant's defense that I'm sure still gives Brady and his O-Line nightmares to this day, but we we're referring to guys who can score when the time is crunching and Brady happens to march down the field in the closing minutes of the SB after getting abused by the Giant's D all game. Maybe we don't see eye-to-eye, but even you have to admit if the Pats D could've held the Giants in check then everyone would've heralded that final TD by Brady as nothing short of typical for the guy.

Yeah I was at that 2007 game. That's the only time the Pats have beaten the Colts in years.

Then there is the Dungy one, the Irsay one, the Polian one etc etc etc etc........

They beat the colts and the refs that day.

Yeah, I'm still on a Pats board.

Kudos for noticing.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

Yes, 3 Super Bowls in 4 years will get Belichick in the HOF, along with his other coaching successes (although I suspect that only SB wins mattters for you).

We didn't have a SB win before or since.

What point are you trying to make?

Sour grapes? Man, the deluded little world of Colts trolls.

Why would Patriots fans have sour grapes with Colts fans.

3 rings in 4 Super Bowls this decade.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

Yeah, I'm sure it had nothing to do with the way Manning was carving up the Pats D in the 4th in that game.

Remember when the talk was "BB is in Peyton's head"? Remember that? Now Manning has won 5 out of 6 VS BB and clearly is inside BB's head.

Anyway you slice it, going for it deep in your own territory is insane. But he figured if he gave the ball back to Manning with that much time left Manning would drive right down like he had the previous drives. And if he made it, it was game over.

He gambled.

They lost.

But it was definitely because he didn't want Manning getting the ball again.

Except for the fact that "carving" up the Pats defense consisted of a bogus 40 yard PI call on Butler.

Up to that point it was 1 TD/ 2 picks in the second half.

The conclusion is that a converted 4th and 2 was overruled by Polians boys.

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

Seriously. Anyone care to list the flag ratio in the games since 05 when these teams have met? Not one is going to favor the Pats, you can be sure of that. I'm not one to make excuses. Blaming the refs is straight up loser talk. But folks, when you play a team and EVERY TIME a PI call comes at a ridiculous period in the game or the ratio of penalties is always one sided, it realllllly makes me wonder sometimes.

This idiot Colts fan comes around here beating his chest, well guess what? The Patriots will still have more lombardis than his dolts at the end of the day, BB and TB will still have a winning record against them at the end of the day. This is the Colts run, this is when the Pats are the weakest and its produced 2 titles because you clowns make the Patriots seem like their still clutch you choke so much in the post season.

IF the Saints win sunday, it wouldn't even be comparable for the Colts/Pats this decade. To say the Colts are the same or better would be like saying the 90's Braves were better than the 90's Yankees. Even if you win, you'll still always be second fiddle. And if the Pats do pull another rabbit outta their ass, it would be 4 lombardis to 1 or 2.

You Colts fans remind me sooo much of the Red Sox fans who were beatring their chest saying the Sox owned the Yankees now all of a sudden.

08 makes the Patriots last few years look real stinky, but it's honestly a black hole. I couldn't imagine how much the Colts would suck without Manning, so I'm sure it wouldn't seem accurate to you to hold a season in which your QB goes down against your team, so why hold it against the Pats?

It's the end of the world, for once, the Patriots pulled a Colts move and went one and done. You act like that means it's all over. You clowns recovvered from it last year, you don't think the Patriots can? Oh wait, they don't have lord Peyton so surely they can't. Maybe BB and Brady can ask Manning how to win more championships...But Manning only has one. Whoops.

Just like the ridiculous PI calls in 08, the lopsided officiating in 07, the PI call such BS the freaking league apoligized for it. Naw, the refs aren't a factor, no way.

Want some cheese to go with that whine?

(and oldie, I know, but a goody).

I got to run, but I'll comment on the actual thread.

I obviously think the Colts win, but I think it will be fairly close, something like 30-21.

The Saints are a wishy washy team, losing to TB, barely beating Wash, etc.

Someone on here posted that the Saints are a tougher matchup for the Colts than the Vikes, I disagree.

The Saints have a mediocre defense and they tend to play down to whoever they're playing. I know Pats fans are in awe of them because they blew your team out, but they also barely beat the Falcons, lost to the Cowboys, barely beat the Rams, etc.

The Colts just beat the best D in the league, they threw everything they had at Manning and it didn't work. I don't see the Saints D stopping him.

Also, the Saints only got to this game because of all those Minn turnovers. Minn had no problem moving the ball against the Saints, they had 450 yards of offense, it's just that they kept coughing the ball up. You're not going to win many games with 5 TOs, but it still took the Saints OT to beat the Vikings.

So anyway, I think the Colts got the better draw, the Vikings were a better top to bottom team and they have a fierce pass rush, and as Pats fans know, (Giants in 2007) that can be brutal.

Should be a good game. Go Colts!

Re: OT: Dungy says Super Bowl won’t be close

But it was definitely because he didn't want Manning getting the ball again.

Ask yourself this question...What would Belichick have done if the game was in NE? I think it is almost certain that he punts the ball.

Ignore the time remaining (2 minutes and 60-65 yards) since it was all but certain that Manning could get plenty of snaps (8-10 easy) but if they scored Brady wouldn't have much of a chance to answer. So the Pats would either have to get a turnover or stop the Colts from going 10 yards in 4 plays.

That is hard enough, but the x-factor was the knowledge that Manning could get PI on a deep ball pretty much any time he wanted. I think Belichick was willing to take his chances defending Manning. He just didn't feel comfortable allowing the refs to take the game from him. Ironically, that is exactly what happened.
