In the words of TMQ(who I used to hate, but seems to be better than the majority of analysts these days), after the PI call I wrote down "game over" and flipped the channel. That 1 play on 3rd down changed everything, NM the touchdown that was incorrectly called back earlier by Houston. It's gone beyond coincidence that these calls benefit the colts constantly. It's just ridiculous

The nfl will have to do something about the pi rules. Especially if you end up with 2 teams going 16-0.

No teams should ever go undefeated through a regular season, but sometimes every 30-40 years it will happen, but to have 3 teams in 3 years go undefeated just shows how the rules are in favor of the offense.

The DPI was a really bad call, momentum changer, imo.

However, it is ridiculous to try to say the Colts success is based on getting penalties called. I know most of you don't believe this anyway.

You could take any team in any game and say this should have been called or this shouldn't have been called and say the game was changed because of it.

Play better the rest of the game and it won't matter.

I always thought your own Richard Seymour was held every passing play, when he played in NE, pretty much like happens to Freeney. You could make the same argument there.

As for the competition committee, I asked this on here last year, why isn't there a Patriot representative on the commitee? Or every team for that matter? Or is there? Also, aren't they the same rules for all the teams?

Here's the point where you just discount what I'm saying by calling me a troll.

I think the reason no outcry is the league sent a memo out again reminding teams that this is illegal and then it was done again. I think that is why anyway. I will be honest I think the whole SpyGate thing is just as blown out of proportion as the Bill Polian refs in the back pocket thing.

The PI call was wrong, the catch was 100% correct, he was contacted in the air so by rule he had to maintain possession all the way to the ground. He didn't so no touchdown.

I agree with this. I thought it was pretty clear that was not a catch by Johnson - we've seen that kind of play about 83 million times at this point, and I've never seen that ruled a catch, so I don't know why anyone would be surprised it wasn't.

Again, it's really the PI calls the Colts get that is my beef. The refs just have it in their head to make that call. No other team benefits so much from so many iffy PI calls.

Geesh people, it was ONE bad call.

One bad call didn't make Schaub throw two costly INT's and a lost fumble.

One bad call didn't allow Manning to gash the Texans in the 2nd half.

One bad call didn't make up for a 17 point deficit.

quit yer' *****in'

Hey I agree to a point. Your team needs to be good enough to overcome a bad call. It's not up to you or me or the refs to force that point though. great team shouldn't have to rely on a momentum changing call to win either. Dungy himself said last night's Football In America's pre-game show that the call was the turning point in the game. The Colts always seem to get one of those when they are in danger of losing.

i hate the colts....but i dont care if they go undefeated if it makes Kraft take down that 16-0 banner........thats like all the old Bruins "Adams Division Champs" banners that were in the old garden....i though the bruins were a dynasty when i was a kid......that regular season banner is not what the 3x Super Bowl champs need.... we have enough Super Bowls to be proud of.......

Actually mystry, I think you're one of the most coherent posters on this site.

Passing teams get interference calls, that's all there is to it. In the end penalties even out.

Good teams win despite the officials, not because of them.

The Pats pretty much never get PI calls and our wideouts are mugged quite a bit.

This is one of the most tortured attempts at intelligence I have ever witnessed on this board

So if you look at the last 4 games in Indy, the Pats are not a "good" team because they get continually screwed?

How about this:

Don't call the BS PI call on Butler and then a fair game ends fairly.

Don't call non infractions like "face guarding" and call real PI like Caldwell in the end zone and have the game end fairly.

Good teams win correctly officiated games.

of course you do....

You don't?

Sure I immediately thought bunch of cheaters take away the rings, but then I thought about it rationally and not as a Colt fan ;) I am an NFL fan who roots for the Colts.

The only part of the whole Spygate thing that I still question right now is why were the tapes destroyed so quickly.

I also do though think that BB wouldn't do anything that he didn't think he could get some value from, so there is that.

Did Taping defensive signals win the game? Nope they still had to execute. The same way that all I see around here is outrage for the PI call, that one call did not win that game. Spygate did not win them a superbowl or 3. Did it give them a bit of an advantage? Who knows, we will never know because BB isn't going to tell us and the tapes are gone so no use worrying about it anymore.

I haven't seen the play everybody is talking about but I'm guessing the WR getting the call was Reggie Wayne?

Just revealed after the Texans game and designed by one of the refs.

lol thats a good call

The Pats pretty much never get PI calls and our wideouts are mugged quite a bit.

I think that the reason it never gets called against the Pats is because they play a more physical wide receiver game. Moss pushes off a lot (by the letter of the rule, more of his catches are on push off then not) But they do not call that as they "let them play" a bit more. So it happens both ways, they let Moss play rough and they let the corners play rough with them.

The Colts receivers are not physical receivers they do not play a push and shove kind of passing game. So they generally call the Contact much much tighter.

It benefits both teams.

I was out to lunch with my fiance, my parents, her parents, her sister and her brother in law yesterday. At half-time, they were all happy that the Colts were losing. I, non-chalantly said, "Don't worry, the refs will give the game to the Colts."

By the end of the game, they were looking at me stunned because the refs had done just that. Had the Refs not made 2 bogus PI calls, the interception that Schaub throws never happens and the Texans win big.
