Did we make a mistake drafting Darius Butler?

This thread makes me want to put a gun to my head.

Butler's good and I think will be one of the better CBs in the league.

If anything, we should have traded up to get Percy. THAT guy in our offense would have been dynamite.

I think we originally wanted Percy but the Vikings took him first. That's why we traded back to get Chung.

We'll never know. But if that was the case and he was the player we really wanted, we should have been aware that the Vikings targeted Harvin because of the lack playmaking WR they had. I hope Tate can be an effective player for us, but having Percy on this team would have solved two issues: KR/PR and 3rd WR.

Brad Childress went before the masses in MN after the draft and told them how he got the player the Patriots really wanted. Many here, myself included, poopooed that thought. I still think it was a lot of bravado on his part but only BB and those in the "war room" know for certain.

I'm one of them, because Childress claims he "needled" Harvin into admitting that the Patriots planned to take him.

I find it hard to believe that the Pats would do that, period, and actually mean it.

I give you credit for this response!

That's MMQB'ing.. at the time of the draft, we did not think we had a 3rd/4th WR problem.

Damn that Butler guy! The team will finish 5-11 because of him.

Does this thread mean the end to the Adam Seward thread?

Butler is a bigger mistake than not signing (or selling the team to) Adam Seward?

I'm not sure if I know you people.

Drafting Seymour was a HUGE mistake...not as bad as the Butler drafting but REAL BAD nonetheless

Absolutly.................. HUGE mistake. But it's to be expected, cuz Belichick sucks.............. Jauron is the master and one of the elite-level coaches and personnel guys in the league and you cannot expect a crappy coach like Belichick to be able to draft as well as him, can you?

I'm particularly diasappointed with this years crap we got. I mean take this Edelman clown. He can't even keep his bones fused together. Pathetic.

Imagine being so stupid we bring in this nobody McGowan to play safety....I'm disgusted...let's make a 500 post thread about that too....

If this is satire, I tip my hat to you. If not, I am flabbergasted.

Is this the fastest anyone has said that the Patriots have made a mistake in taking a player instead of another player...that has actually played a down, not just draft talk?

He is a rookie CB playing on a team that has depth in the position from both the draft and through free agency splitting playing time while making an impact on the field and continuing to learn a complex, hard to learn system...six games to question the choice of him is beyond comedic, it's downright sad and pathetic...

Wasn't Barwin somone's binky??

Often forgotten fact, something like 23 of our 53 are undrafted free agents... always find that interesting and sobering when it comes to these woulda, shoulda, coulda threads..

Yeah, quite a few people on here were begging for Barwin. I'm not enough of a draftnik to know who's good, and who's bad. I just know i like what ive seen out of Butler, and the other youngsters. This D could be seriously dominant in another year

Yeah I'm sure a sample size of not even half a season of games is more than enough to evaluate a player as a huge mega bust.
