The Jets Stream - NY Daily News

Ryan said Kellen Clemens will go into camp as the No. 1 QB on the depth chart, with rookie Mark Sanchez No. 2. But Ryan said it remains an "open competition." He said Clemens will get most of the first-team reps in the early going.

Smart move, now he's starting to worry me.

Last time I checked, this was a Pats forum. Doesn't matter who the Jets start at QB, they're going to get their a** kicked.

Sanchez to open behind Clemens - Jets to close behind AFCE competition.

Methinks this isn't much more than a ploy to keep the Jets in the news. Sanchez will start Week 1... book it.

Who would you rather see week 2? I could see Clemens failing in week 1 and and the media calling for Sanchez against the Pats. Being his first game the Pats can stack the box, and should be an easy win with the world watching

The old "create controversy" ploy...the old "he fought for that #1 job" ploy...

Killing questions before they start with the claim only...

I'd rather see a guy starting his 2nd game in the pros (and only 15th or so meaningful football game) than a mediocre vet.
