Re: Next season's schedule

Yeah, but the Steelers have this nasty tendency of putting Patriots on the IR list.
Other than Pierre Woods, such as?

Re: Next season's schedule

Looks like 12-4 to me ... does that get us in? :confused2:

Or .... will be be the 1st 12 win team to get the pipe?

Re: Next season's schedule

Rodney Harrison and Matt Light (a couple of years ago)

I fixed your post for you. :(

[And don't forget the Pats lost Mike Wright after last year's PIT game.]

I think we will be even better than 12 and 4 next season if Brady is 10% by mini camps because:

1.)Patriots players bodies get an extra month of rest this off season, so all the nagging and lingering shoulder, ankle and knee problems should be more healed than usual by TC.

2.) All the "red shirts" will have a year in the system. Wheatley, Crable, etc.

3.) Decent cap space to continue to work on the back 8 of the defense. Vrabel and Thomas at OLBs, Mayo at weakside ILB, Merriweather at SS, and Hobbs at 1 CB position are settled. That leaves the Strongside ILB, FS and 1 CB holes to fill. (Depth in the back eight as well is needed desperately)

4.) Contract year for some key players. Excluding Varitek, I have not seen many players implode in contract years.

If Brady is 100%, I do not see any reason we cannot go 14 and 2 or 15 and 1.

Re: Next season's schedule

I remember the Colts game with the Duane Starkes debacle along with Monty

Re: Next season's schedule

I remember 2004, that was the Monday Night game season opener, right?

The others I don't recall as much. I guess its evened but it would have been nicer all around to alternate year by year.

it was actually a thursday night season opener. pats won by 3 when vanderjerk missed a FG in the final seconds.

Re: Next season's schedule

Good lord, that looks like such an ungodly schedule when compared to this year's.

Ok right, thanks that was the same game I was thinking of. Watched it between acts at a concert at the HoB in Anaheim is all I remember, besides the botched FG.

Re: Next season's schedule

F#$*^@ the NFL and F#^#@ London. The Pats play in Tampa once every 8 years and they play the friggin game in a country that doesn't even give a crap about American football. Can't wait for the ******s blowing whistles in the stands.

Re: Next season's schedule

Have we ever played Indy at Foxboro during the regular season in this millenium?
Yeah they had to come here a few times, but this is rediculous. Remember they beat us in Foxboro in Nov. of '06. At least i think it was 06. Anyways i thought this string of playing them in Indie was over.

but look at this year. noone last offseason wouldve thought Miami, or the Falcons would be good enough for the playoffs this year. So, I wouldnt pay attention to next years schedule at this point.

If that holds that would be a truly BRUTAL schedual. In fact i don't think i've ever seen one so tough. Not even the one from a couple of years ago when our schedual was considered the toughest in many, many years.

Re: Next season's schedule

there is only ONE constant in the NFL ...year after agonizingly horrible year..

Re: Next season's schedule

helps we only have 7 road games

09 is a good season for Pats

if Tom is healthy, we could have another 16-0 record in 09 season.
We faced Colts, Ravens and Jag and we defeated them last season. I'm optomistic about next season.

The full list of 2009 opponents (exact dates usually announced by the league in April):
Home games
Bills
Dolphins
Falcons
Jaguars
Jets
Panthers
Ravens
Titans
Road games
Bills
Broncos
Buccaneers (in London)
Colts
Dolphins
Jets
Saints
Texans

Finalized 2009 Pats Opponents

The Patriots finished in second place in the AFC East, and thus, their final two opponents have been determined for the 2009 season.

As part of the NFL's rotating schedule format, 14 of the 16 opponents are pre-determined each season. The final two spots are filled by facing other conference teams that finish in the same spot of their division -- and for the Patriots in 2009 that means a home game against Baltimore (second place, AFC North) and a road game against Denver (second place, AFC West).

havent seen this anywhere on here.

how many god damn times are the pats going to have to play at indy? seriously? this has to be the 3rd or 4th straight year.

Re: Finalized 2009 Pats Opponents

It's gonna be a tough year next year. NFC South is the anti NFC West. It's one of the best divisions. Plus the NFC South as well as the Ravens? Can't wait. Brady should be amped!
