Bledsoe coming out of retirement?

Ok, quick question and I don't want to start a different thread about it...........

Assuming a 2-1 or 3-0 record heading into the bye, is there anyone here who doesn't think the Patriots could win 11+ games AND the division if Bledsoe were to take over after the bye week?

I always said that Drew would make a good farmer, "Outstanding in his field"... but in reality, he was more like an astronomer: Laying on his back, looking up at all the stars circling above him.

Bledsoe, Culpepper, heck.. I'm surprised no one mentioned Flutie yet. What, are TRYING to tank the season?

Things will be fine. relax. Open another beer. Sunday is almost upon us. Heh...

Not a chance. we would be screwed if drew came back he's been on the couch for two years

Sure, I definitely think it's possible. Of course, I also think we can win 12 games with Cassel, so take it FWIW. Still, though, I don't see why everyone rags on Bledsoe here. The guy was a good QB.

No one here is saying its a good idea.....I'm only saying that someone has gone public with news of Bledsoe.

Calm down newby. You've been here less than a month.

Learn some proper sentence structure as well.

I was referring to the guy you heard say it, not you, but if you want to claim the dumb title far be it from me to stop you. I am very calm btw, unlike you, please elaborate on my '' improper sentence structure '' so i can not offend you in the future Mr. Grammar Policeman.

I would like to see Bledsoe back as Cassel's backup, but that said I just can't see it happening.

You can put me in this exact same category. I would take him as a backup to Matt...

sorry don't stone me!!!

:D

I'm not sure why peoples knee-jerk reaction is to immediately dismiss it.

What if it turns out to be true?

As for your grammar, it's not bad, but you use commas in places you should use a period.

this would be awesome.

im not sure if it would be awesome for the team, but so many people on here would be so angry, i would love it.

Please be true.

By about mid-season, we may be looking for any avenue for entertainment.

I'd give anyone a shot at being our "in case of emergency, break glass" guy. Even 47 year old Boomer Esiason. At least he's a Pats fan.

I'd rather have Cassel. Bledsoe is a liability. Remeber he was thrown out of his last 2 jobs because his offense couldnt score any points. And that was 2 years of atrophy ago.
At least with Cassel it could go either way. If Bledsoe was our starting QB the rest of this season, he would turn at least 5 wins, that we would win with a non-descript mediocre QB into 5 losses.

Not a joke..

I heard it on the radio about 6pm here in Orlando and it came from a guy I usually consider a bufoon, but once in a while, he calls it right. So, I'm not sure what to believe, but he sounded absolutely convinced that it was true.

I shoulda stoped reading right there. Silly me.

Nice article....

But he did say at the end that as far as retirement goes, Bledsoe says "there's no guarentee" (staying retired) and it would be a slim chance that he would come back....

Sounds like he's left the door open if the right opportunity came up.

Like a championship caliber team in need of a QB.

Hey, Drew. We have this guy named Randy Moss who wants you to throw the ball to him so he can score TDs. Interested?

I don't think Drew could resist the storyline of him coming to start after the guy who came in to start for him when he got hurt got hurt this year. It's pure Hollywood, especially if we'd win the SB.

1. Its bs, without a link or something more crediible than "I know a guy who said..." why this board is wasting time on it I don't know

2. I wouldn't want him. He is as mobile as a statue and throws the worst interceptions at the worst times.

Exactly...You couldn't make this up and sell it to Hollywood.

Bledsoe gets gurt, Backup Brady comes in. Brady goes on to win SB.

Brady gets hurt. Bledsoe comes in. Goes on to win SB.

Scary.....

Just to be fair.....

1.) The rumor is from a local radio show. It shouldn't be surprising that the O.P. can't pull up a link.

2.) Brady is more mobile than Bledsoe, but as for the interceptions, the Broncos and Colts say "Hello! It's not as if Bledsoe cornered the market and Brady's never done it."

The thing about bringing Drew in is that he *is* retired and probably wants to remain that way. The team is much better than when he was under center -- especially the receivers. So, maybe they ask him to come in and anchor the QBs. He can mentor MC and come in and play if they need him.

He was a very good QB and here's an opportunity for him to finish on top. What a great storyline. Does anyone really think other options are better?

Drew was never a student of the game. How exactly would he mentor Cassel?

Worst thread EVER.

Why couldn't he mentor Cassell? He played 14 years in the NFL. Been to 2 superbowls. Level headed, smart.

Sounds like qualifications to me....

1 He was a good mentor to Brady when he was the so called man here, when he was not anymore he wanted to leave...

2 Jp losman came and he did not want to back him up...

3 Tony Romo took his spot, he did not even want to take a knee down in a game, in fact was the number 3 QB that yr..

Bledsoe is not the so called team player some potray him.. He was a good solider in the 90's ,but he did not work his but off..

You will see a even scarier tom brady next yr by the way...
