He had one of the greatest seasons ever in 67. During the stretch drive no one could get the man out. Keep in mind, this is when pitchers dominated with the high mound. When he was in his prime, that bat had to come from the clouds to swing at a pitch. Anyone ever see the at bat where he almost knocked the ball out of the park? Not too shabby in the field either.

Yaz ... get well soon ... he was my idol when I was a kid. I learned to be a switch hitter so I could be Yaz when I wanted to be. Yaz was the only player I ever saw smoking butts near the dugout ... he was a mad smoker in his day. He had no business putting up the power numbers like he did ... they say his wrists were similar to construction workers ... unbelievably strong.

Anyways ... hope he pulls through .. sounds like heart attack?
