WR Andrew Hawkins retires

He posted this video 15 hours ago. Watching him get pounded and crushed kind of makes me think this was a factor in him saying he was through.

An awful lot of head shots with head-neck at highly twisted angle. I can see with the head trauma report why retirement seems like a good option. Too bad he never got a chance to catch passes from a guy who leads WRs AWAY from the DB.

I wonder if he'll join the Patriots scouting staff or any team's staff. IIRC, his goal after playing was working to become an NFL GM

He'd already worked a year for the Lions as a Scouting intern.. Wouldn't be surprised if the Pats offered him a position..

Loved the story that Patchick linked. He decided to continue to pursue his NFL dream because while working as an intern scout for the Lions, he saw their receiving corps and outside of Calvin Johnson realized he was better than all of them. And given that they went 0-16 that season and finished 27th in points scored, he was probably right.....
