Will Moss' Dominance Hurt Team Chemistry?

By the way, my answer to this would be no, for all the reasons mentioned, but you guys who act like it's insane to wonder are ignorant of the egos of pro ball players, as well as history beyond the last few years. Again, this tight ship should continue sailing, but it's worth considering--as well as the flip side, considering his history, of how Moss will react when it's not this way every week. (And for the record, I think he'll react perfectly.)

No, again for the same reasons. He is the best WR by FAR on this team. Its only fair that he gets more chances than anyone else. And as far as receptions go, he isn't getting a TON more than say Welker etc, he just happens to get BIG gains. But it comes down to talent. Moss is a veteran, talented WR. Gaffney is basically still a rookie. If they know their roles, which they should, the team will be fine.

And as far as pure receptions, Welker actually led the team today with 6, then Moss and Faulk were tied with 5. It's just that Moss is the deepthreat, meaning his 5 receptions mean 100+ yards.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as giddy as anybody about the first three games. But it does seem as though Brady has made the choice that Randy Moss will "the guy" rather than simply hitting the open guy--on Moss' second TD in particular, I think Gaffney was far more open than Moss was.

Umm Moss took a 45 yard pass for the score... I have no idea what you mean by someone was MORE wide open than Moss. Relax and enjoy the ride. Why do you have to take a dump in the cereal when CLEARLY, Moss has become one of the best players on this team?

IN a word NO, Moss' talent does not ruin the team chemistry. It made a good thing even BETTER. Moss' presence opens up so much for this offense, it's not even funny. Heck Maroney finally rushed for a 100 yards. The D didn't dare to put 8 in the box this game. And I bet they won't for the rest of the season as long as Moss is healthy.

Considering that Maroney was playing second fiddle last season to Dillon, that Welker was always the slot receiver on the Fins as he is now the slot receiver with the Pats, and that the rest of the receivers on this offense are all NEW except for Brown and Jackson. How could he be clashing with any egos when nobody else is even established on offense? I happen to think this is the perfect situation for Moss, a veteran star on the rebound, to take a starring role on offense without tweaking any noses. There is literally nobody else on offense that Moss is displacing. Caldwell? Cut. Gaffney? He was #3 or #4 at best last year anyways. Branch? Long gone. Brady? Brady and Moss look like BEST PALS out there. So I can see where you are coming from but your worry is baseless.

just look at who our coach is on the sideline...its not norv turner.

Let me see... WE KEEP winning and winning???
NO
But...Stallworth may be unhappy that he is not showcased more
(It does affect his market value)

His market value would be affected far more by showing a bad attitude because he wasn't getting enough balls. If he can't play for the Pats because of attitude, his value will drop a lot more than if he only catches 50 balls or so on a SB champ across from Moss.

I think winning cures all. Stallworth is fine. When they double Moss and roll coverage to him, Stallworth will get his shots.

If Brady misjudged Moss's openness a couple of times AND kept going to him, THEN there might be a problem.

Or if this lasts all season.

But I don't expect either to happen. At some point, opposing defenses will cover Moss better, leaving more holes elsewhere, and leading to a more equitable distribution of passes.

It's a fair question but I don't think so. If anything it won't be his play, it will be his mouth but I don't think that will be a problem this year. Winning cures a lot of ills...

Some of us wonder about all the great possibilities and some wonder about the negatives...

Some men see things as they are and ask "Why?"...others dream things that never were and ask "Why not?" RFK

As my dad always says: Don't sweat the small stuff

We kick ass now and until I'm shown differently, we will continue to kick ass.

Agreed.

Lets not forget. It's not like Brady was looking just at Moss all day, Moss just made the plays. In fact, I go so far as to say that this was, for the most part, a ho hum day for Moss outside of the 2 45 yd catches. Besides those 2 catches, he was 3 for 25 yds (with a short TD).

Brady (and the offense in general) was just putting a beat down on the Bill's D. They were obviously tired and right at the oportune times, they let Randy get unaccounted for and Brady and Moss made them pay. The bomb TD was a "toss it up" play and Randy, because of his talent" made the play.

As someone said, this ain't pop warner ball. These guys are pros, focused on winning each game. They celebrate the great play of teammates. If Stallworth makes a few move moves and does a better job at getting open, he'l get more balls.

I don't think it will hurt unless brady starts trying to force it to moss and starts making mistakes because of it. The other receivers knew when moss was brought in he was brought in to be The Guy, Welker I'm sure is happy about his role its the role he knew he was coming here to play, stallworth needs to get his act together so he can't complain, gaffney is just happy to be on the team, and troy brown will never complain about that sort of thing. And back to Moss he knows that the pats don't need him to win and he doesn't want to risk being banished back to a football siberia. I could see him pulling a TO after the season and wanting a rediculous contract but if we win the superbowl who cares let him go. But I really can't see him being a problem this season

Of course not.

Just so you know, Moss leads the Pats receivers in receptions by only two at 22. Welker has 20.

So the question is, will this be a sticking point with the other guys? I know it seems laughable with the way things or going, but the secret of this team until now has been their team first/individual-stats second.

Maybe "just having" Moss OPENS UP the entire O, leaving more receivers open? It's not like Brady will be throwing to everyone AT ONCE.

And from a Dallas' fan POV on TO, I can honestly say that he WILL be OK(behavioral wise) this year-it's next year(his last year on contract) that I'm worried about-in today's game, he had a ton of yards, but it was the other guys who caught TDs.

Wait until Chad Jackson returns. Then it's all over.
