We dont seem to sack the QB much. Why? The game wasn't on TV here yesterday so I can't judge if we even got close to one against he fish.
I watch the Eagles kill Big Ben yesterday and was impressed. The G'men can get to the QB as we have seen.
Do we need to blitz more or a lack of talent?
thanks

I'm with you, I'd really like to see opposing QB's on the ground more than I have so far.

Why no sacks for us? It's simple really. We can't pressure the quarterback. There. Wasn't that easy?

I know; why?? I was in awe watching the Eagles yesterday.

The game was on WRAL in Raleigh. What part of "Carolina" didn't have the game?

I question why Shawn Crable has not been activated and used once in a

as a situational pass rusher.

something needs to be done

Chad was carving us up so quickly and so much especially right up the middle so it was hard to get to him.

Because the front 7 is overrated, it's really that simple

Vrabel is on the back 9 and Bruschi has just finished up the 18th

Charlotte. The panthers were on her and the biggie game opposite was
CHIEFS @ FALCONS.
I watch 15 mins of this and got sick.

we do not get sacks because that is not what the scheme calls for. the front seven hold their guys and the lbs make the plays. I do agree we should be putting a little more pressure on the QB, put we are not a sack oriented D like the giants

Are you happy with Adalius Thomas? Forthe money I expected more from him.
He should be making more things happen with the rep he had coming here. I thought he was all-pro with the Ravens?

It's not schemes, it's personnel. The same thing used to be said about wr's and numbers until last season. If we had a Merriman, or Ware, or Taylor type, we wouldn't be talking about scheme. The personnel (front 4) on this team just doesn't have what it takes to consistently pressure the qb.

Aw jeebus, you're so very right. Ever since we lost one game to the Doofles, I've thought just exactly the very same thing.

But you know, one little thing that is a tad confusing and what I just don't know how to explain is that the only team that had more sacks than us last year was the Giants.

Fail.

We also put different pressure than the 4-3 defense end around the edge pressure. We push the pocket (or try to) and make it smaller and more uncomfortable for the QB.

You are aware that the front 7 includes the LBs, right?

Because we cannot cover receivers even when everyone is in coverage (see opponents completion percentage). Weakening this coverage by sending them to attack the QB is a desperation band-aid.

I am not taking a side on this issue, but I would guess that that stat had something to do with teams playing against us from behind so much last year, which put them in obvious passing-mode.

Thank you. The pats do indeed put pressure, it just takes a little longer to get there than a full blitzing team like the giants or eagles.

When the eagles blitz fails to get the QB, the opposing offense can light them up, ie, the cowboys. If they do get to the QB fast enough, then see the steelers game.

I'm expecting a full frontal assault on JT O'Sullivan in week 5.

JT may not make it through the game.
