Why aren't the FG posts taller?

It seems crazy to me that the umps have to decide whether or not a FG try that is kicked high up in the air clears the upright or not. Why not make the posts 10' taller and remove any doubt?

why doesnt the NFL just get better kickers..im tired of seeing misses. Vinatieri, Gost, Rackers, Tynes..i mean cmon. Its not a 45+ yarder

Kinda tough to get the NFL to control the calibre of it's kickers but ...... I've got a 40' antenna that is straight as a pin in my backyard. If the NFL wants my antenna guy to help them design a taller upright I'll gladly give them the contact info.
