I hate threads like this. They end up full of people with pessimistic predictions designed to let the author either gloat about being right or dismiss being wrong because the team benefitted.

So far members have posted thoughtful ideas about the topic.

IIRC the average recovery time for a WR who tore his Achilles is about 11 months. Considering he tore it in December ( week 16), can we expect him before week 12 or so?????

Compare and contrast with Richard Sherman? I will look him up later.

Hmm. Seems to me like Thomas (the only player currently eligible), then Gordon (the August thawing in the league disciplinary office may release him from the indefinite ban), then Gronk, who I think is just beaten down by the league.

Agree.

Thomas will be PUP'd or cut

Josh will return

Gronk will stick to whatever it is he is doing.

The last time we saw Gronk he was spiking various melons at the S&S in Malden. I'll miss everything about the big guy this year.

I bet the DBs of the league had a party when Gronk said he was done playing.

For the poll I picked the last option, none of thee above.

Yeah it sucks that I can't just be actually voicing my concerns/gut feeling but internet points are just too important.

I think none.

* If Gronk unretires at all it won't be this year.
* Thomas will probably be a training camp cut.
* NFL won't unsuspend Gordon.
