It seemed to me the first 3 weeks that Maroney was returning all the kick offs.

Then against cincy kevin faulk seemed to be taking the returns.

1. Am I confused or is my recollection correct?

2 Was Cincy kicking away from Maroney? - I thought I didnt even see him on the field.

3 Was BB trying to protect Maroney from injury?

4Was BB worried about a fumble on kickoffs?

5 Is this a permanent change or just for cincy game?

Anyone know?

I'm fine with Faulk returning. He seems to cough the ball up once or twice a year, but he's pretty durable back there. Risking a Maroney injury for 5 extra yards on the kickoff isn't too smart, in my opinion. Faulk is more than servicable.

Plus, unlike in the preseason, I thought Maroney looked a little tentative.

I'm still wondering why Andrews wasn't returning punts, but Faulk has done a very good job so far. When was the last time a Pats punt returner averaged 10+ yards per return ?
