Was there any tagged player for the Pats in the BB era whose career as a Patriot lasted for more than one season after being tagged?

The odds are not good for Wilfork going by past history...

They could do a Dansby and tag him again in 2011 though

Auto-Adam got a multi year deal after being tagged.

Vinatieri (the first time).

I vote for traded...

for two first round picks.

All things being equal I want him back.

Wilfork - and any tagged player - needs to know that the team holds enough cards to the point where, if they want a long term contract and more guaranteed money than the Franchise Tag, they need to concede that they won't get as much as if they were a non-tagged free agent.

If Wilfork won't concede I'm fine seeing him play the year under the tag - though I realize he won't be reporting for camp.

A trade is the worst case scenario for me - they might get a decent draft pick in return but I'd prefer to have Wilfork's proven experience than just about any green rookie.

IMO worst case is that he doesn't sign the tender, he sits out camp, can't strike a contract, Pats can get a trade accomplished, the Pats are 2-7 w/ the worst run D in the league, he comes back week 10, plays, gets hurt goes on IR, players are bent out of shape, BBs girlfriend dumps him, there is a lockout and my dog dies. The season is a complete disaster.

Just had to one-up ya
