Where does a hopeful skinny rookie Tom Brady get drafted in 2015?

I dug up Brady's NCAA stats at Michigan. Although nothing really jumps off the page, his efficiency and accuracy are definitely above average. Also, among the QB percentage stats (as opposed to counting stats like TD's), Brady is one of only two or three players in the Top 20 in all 3 such QB categories (pass pct, pass rate, ay/a). Not earth shattering. But with 20-20 hindsight, one would realize he did it with only 2 years as semi-starter. Or in other words, his true potential was never reached or known as he only had 30%-40% of the game experience of most of his QB peers. So basically hew was a top 20 QB in all efficiency stats, at a major program, with only a year and half of starting.

Not sure how this relates to his draft position in 2015, but I found it interesting. To venture an opinion, I'd say this would less likely be overlooked in 2015 than in 2000. NFL teams today now regularly take these such risks looking to draft impact players in the later rounds. This is one way to do so - Find players excelling in small sample size, be it from injury, lack of opportunity or bad scheme fit.

i went to michigan in late 90's. i watched all brady's games. most of them in person. Brady was definitely a smart game managing QB for majority of his career. we were a running team. our offense doesn't produce gaudy QB numbers. But when we needed brady to step up, he stepped up. i always thought he had a good instinct. i remember there was a play where our left tackle got beat badly, but brady simply stepped up and threw a 15 yard dart after a simple pump fake. i was like 'how da hell did he knew the rush was coming?'

bottom line, brady didn't magically get better. he always had something in him. he showed flashes of good instinct, killer mentality, and good game managing quality. he just didn't wow you with stats, and his great quality just wasn't measurable. also lloyd carr is notorious for not good at developing the talent especially QB.

anyway, penn state game and alabama orange bowl game are one of my favorites.
